Brummie Kev
A total and utter shambles last night, I could not believe what I was seeing. How on earth was the meeting allowed to take place on a track that wasn't fit to stage a speedway meeting due to the rain in the morning. I got there and by the start line there was a discussion between the management and captains of both teams plus the ref Craig Ackroyd. Why wasn't there a decision to blade the track and put the meeting back as surely the most important thing is rider safety. Ackroyd should hang his head in shame for a so called top class referee to allow that meeting to take place. We race 8 long winded heats which resulted in fallers in almost every heat, Max Clegg in heat 1 was just about hanging on his bike, it was that bad.So why wasn't it stopped and urgent repair work done straight away and not wait so long and till 8.50pm before deciding to blade it. Lets be honest if the tractor had not crashed into the fence which resulted in an interval, would it have even been bladed?. It annoys that we allow the riders to risk life and limp when the officials don't do their jobs properly. Such a sour end to what has been an enjoyable season watching National League racing
catinthehat
Talked to the riders after the meeting and they said they had asked for the blade to come out around 6pm but they were told by a top track man that they never had one at the stadium, Then Bingo one comes out at heat eight, Maybe they had just built it in the carpark on went to Monmore to go and collect it. Seems as if we were all robbed of a good meeting and the way it was conducted was a shambles, Sorry to say the ref should have taken control, or look as if he was in control? Not good for speedway, Not good for Cradley, why would anyone want to invest in Cradley speedway if they cant run the last meeting of the year to a standard. Praise to all the riders both sides and to Eastbourne as no complaints from them, Few of the Cradley boys were upset with the track and talking to Will, Seemed to affect Matt more then most. Good to see that nothing will happen about it now. All brushed under the carpet, Edited October 23, 2015 by catinthehat
Alex2000
Weather still looks a bit dodgy around 7 pm but they are there riding now so obviously think they can over come the possible rain.

catinthehat
Great night from all the track staff and the Eastbourne team helping put the saw dust down. Good to see that the voice the Cradley fans were at it again but I guess to see Eastbourne lift the Cup.
Hunters
It looked all over at 8 up with two to go and Spiller/ Andrews (2 of our best 3 on the night) up against Mogridge/Smith . A 5-1 looked probable but when they both slowed down I thought the race had been stopped. Then they fired up again but were way back and it became a 1-5. The fact they both stopped racing means there must have been a reason, possibly a red light from a camera? BWD's heat 15 ride had a touch of the Nicki Pedersen's about it albeit at a different level but if he had run into mechanical difficulties it would have been a disaster. Daniel will be back in Germany but it would be interesting to get Richards take on it.
Alex2000
Wouldn't be surprised if the Cradley fans had a red light. They were vocal to say the least
gee jay
i bet connor was the only one sweating before heat 15 at a cold and wet arlington last night going by how much the new treble t-shirts would have been worth as dusters. i'm missing out though i'll never squeeze into a large. Mike.Butler
congrats to ref and all riders and track officials.. you did all that you could to put fans first..i feared a heat 10 call-off which would have robbed us of a thrilling finale...i really appreciated your efforts..more of the same please. thank you
stevec
Great night all in all. We has good racing, rain, thrills and spills, almost fisty cuffs and a great result. Fair do's to Cradley who really made a match of it after the rain. I never thought this would go down to the last heat. I gotta say, I just love Danny Ayres. he never gives up, shows real emotion and yeh, it was so funny when he fell after taunting the fans! I had a chat with him after the meeting and he seems like a real nice guy as well. He has definately bee my favorite opposition rider this season, home and away. Congrats to every single rider for riding in thise condition. I can just imagine the elite league and the huddle of riders on turn 2, the ref being called down to the track because they are all thinking of tomorrows meeting in Poland or whatever. Fair do,s to the Cradley fans who are vocal and help create a great atmosphere. They gave as much as the got from the noisy Eastie fans down the home straight. Wow BWD sure had a bit of Nicki P in him when he blocked Max Clegg. I get why Clegg was not happy, I really do but it was funny seeing him chase BWD round the track after. Just a great end to a great year.
