thebaron
Decisive action from the management in my opinion. We are getting a rider we know well it should see us off to a good start. Nicolai is on a false average and in a relatively young team he will be an experienced head to have around. It may be shorter term but then again that had been the intention with Theo and he ended up being the cornerstone of the 2015 team. Averages are bound to come into it and if Nicolai's Polish ride means him stepping out then we may have the means to make another change. Andreas Lyager would be in my thinking for sure. Its an astute sensible move; probably not an inexpensive one either. But if we mean business in 2016 we mean business and we obviously do. Welcome back Nicolai and well done Rob and the team. Certainly appears a smart move and gets us out of an unwelcome hole. More than likely Zeddys figure will drop but a purposeful NK should also make an absolute mockery of that starting average so will have to see how things pan out? Great to see Nicolai back on board and if anything should potentially set things up even stronger for an exciting 2016 season ahead? Not sure what Rye fans make of all this but some you win and bring it on!
Cupidstunt
Not a bad signing with the current lack of rider availability got lucky with him signing for Leicester and leaving Rye, people saying on a false average but he has had this average over the last 3 years or so, its not really false but he is a decent 6 pointer. screm
Looks like he will only be at Scunthorpe till the Polish fixtures start, hopefully by then Scunthorpe will have Hollob on a true average.

OILYRAG
Rob ... Why would you sign a rider on a 7 point average if it is "realistic" that it is going to drop ? Edited January 6, 2016 by OILYRAG
moorwell
Rob ... Why would you sign a rider on a 7 point average if it is "realistic" that it is going to drop ? simple really its the only way to bring new riders and we bring them in on the assessed average wether its right or not ,They always drop in the first couple of months due to the competiveness of the premier league and how long a rider adapts to it .we are now fortunate that we can use this to our advantage for a change

Paul Johnson
So Nicolai will cover until Zdenek gets his new average? so whats its expected to be, 5, 5.5?, a drop of 1.5 to 2?, nicolai is on 5.8ish so we could then be looking to bring in a rider around the 7.5 mark?
Reviresco
Holub scored 12pts plus 4 bonus from his 15 rides for Scunthorpe last season, so even an attained average of 5 may be pushing it. With Klindt in the team and Holub on his assessed 7, the combined average is 42.16 I think. Could be looking at 8+ points available if Klindt does move on when Holub attains an average.

Reviresco
That, of course, is the $64m Question... Scorpions, I guess, will be hoping that the rest of the team rides well enough to raise their averages and counter any drop in Holub's assessed average... Alan_Jones
Not sure what Rye fans make of all this but some you win and bring it on! He was one of the "signings" I was disappointed with so not greatly bothered as long as a reasonably adequate replacement is found.
bullet
Time for my initial guess Josh 8.0 Zdenek 7pt (Ass) Ryan 6.68 (Assuming he keeps that and depending if it was a 2 yr visa etc...) Alex 6.26 Wilko 5.33 (Number 6 so lowest average in top 6) 3Pt national league rider That leaves 6.03 which to keep wilko at reserve only gives a list roughly of Lanham, MPT, Heeps, Manzaris, Kozza, Klindt, Bellego Wouldn't mind most of those but MPT or Klindt would be my preferred. As for the 3pt rider no idea really we could do with a full list of those eligible so we can start to guess at who they might be. (does clegg count and now become a 3pt instead of 3.4 as it states eligible for NL which he is) Well that was not a bad first guess!!

eric i
If its still 4 home and away meetings to achieve a new average Zdenek will need to do 2 more home meetings and 3 away so NK might only be in the team for two weeks. Not sure how far Zdenek's average will drop as a guess I would say it will be between 5 and 6. If its nearer 6 we might see a return of Andreas Lyager. Albert
I could be wrong, but isn't Andreas Lyager riding for the same Polish team as Klindt this season?
Broadsider
He was one of the "signings" I was disappointed with so not greatly bothered as long as a reasonably adequate replacement is found. Take your point AJ and yes NK is an enigma but if he gets his head on he can be a serious scorer at PL level. That was surely the hope at Rye and the concern now will be finding, as you say, a reasonably adequate replacement? Easier said than done with the apparent dearth of options available?
