Tsunami
Sure that I have read somewhere that Ty is still back in Oz, he had received some offers from the UK but they were described at best not worth his while coming over for, and it is looking as though he will be stay ing at home. Yes , I think he has to stay home, as I believe to get a visa, he needs to have a sponsor with guarantees. He therefore can't enter the country without a sponsor/team place. June
I don't know if I'm right in thinking that whilst riders are racing for Scunthorpe they have unlimited hours practice on our track. So riders starting out with AM meetings, progressing to NL and onto PL gives them a massive start to their career. Yet as soon as they start to pull in points they are off!. Well done JOSH AUTY he's still with us. Always been one of my favourites!. I wish this lad to get on and into the GP's. He deserves it!.

Albert
Better option then having to bring in another assessed 7 pointer... Lewis is a proven rider..goes well round Scunny and will hopefully prove to be a shrewd signing. Not the out and out number one the Scorpions really need but nonetheless given rider availability this is a good signing. Welcome Lewis, good luck to the lad. phillwhitewasmad
Welcome Lewis Kerr . Wonder what would of happened if Taylor Poole had come has a season ever started in so much chaos due to one rider deciding not to ride. Ps this is not a dig at Taylor brave decision to say he wasn't up for it

Cue Ball
Hopefully this will be the start of a change of luck for the Scorpions - from a Sheffield perspective, I obviously love beating them home and away (I do enjoy my trips to the EWR), but do hate to see them struggling like they have been this year
Broadsider
Surprised by Kerr's availability, but given his remarkable recovery from horrific injury last year, will be delighted for Lewis just to get some decent scores @ Scunny and post as near a 7pt overall average as possible. Everything crossed that this works well for both Lewis and the Scorpions? 👍

thebaron
Just wondering how we will line up 1-7 ?. Signing Lewis Kerr has me thinking back to Bradford 1974 !. Our No1 and Captain "armchair stylist" Alan Knapkin took over the promoting reigms at Odsal mid season. Knapkin paid a transfer fee for Bostons reserve rider Tony Featherstone and he made his Odsal debut at No1 !. We could not quite fathom out how Tony ended up switching from reserve at Boston to No1 at Bradford?. Back in 1970 at my second ever Speedway meeting Tony had been the first rider I had ever seen flung over the back straight safety fence onto the Odsal terraces and walk away ! So we were a little unconvinced about his signing?. But Knapkin knew his man and Featherstone posted a 12pt maximum home debut score !. He never looked back after that and became a big points scorer in the team until Odsal closed its doors to Speedway in 1975. My point is that I would give Lewis Kerr the No1 race jacket too ! and show the same leap of faith Knapkin showed Tony Featherstone-who ironically would later ride for Scunthorpe at Ashby Ville in the 80s. There has been talk on here that riding No1 has not always brought the best out of Josh Auty ? Debatable sure ?. So I would take a bit of pressure off and move the order around. So; 1.Lewis 2.MPT 3.Ryan 4 Alex 5.Big Josh 6.Carlos 7 Little Josh. I think that pairs the riders quite effectively and immediately shows the regard and faith we have in Lewis coming into the club. I do not want to pile the pressure on Lewis but I just think this move managed this way might be a win win for the club and a very talented and brave young English rider with a point to prove. It would be a "feather" in our cap and his if we have found our modern day Tony Featherstone. Looking forward to the weekend now. 2ndbendbeerhut
Thing is if a speedway fan doesn't know a rule that been in place for some time what hope is there for new fans understanding any of the rules!?
Broadsider
I think we can excuse insider getting a tad carried away on that one. Always one of the most interesting and considered posters on here. Can't disagree with the thought of having Josh Auty out of that No 1 spot though? It appears too big a burden and he's been pretty much ineffective at that level all season.
