lucifer sam
Thanks for the reply. If it was never on Scunny's fixtures I apologise I probably got the relevant fixture from the Sheffield website. Would have checked that before Scunny's as Sheffield is my home town. Did not think to double check for inconsistencies. Two fixtures I thought seemed unusual at the time, Sheffield's potential away fixture 25 July v Scunny, and the fact that we still have a provisional fixture on Sunday 15th May (seems even more unusual now Glasgow are staging British semi on that date. Is there a provisional date for this match, or are Scunny awaiting to see if they beat Newcastle first? I've spoken to Richard H on a couple of matters tonight, and also asked him about this. It seems the 25th July was on an early draft of the fixture list, but removed before the final publication of the fixture list. It seems it still appeared in a couple of places, before being removed (as Alan Jones mentions, it was on the original BSPA fixture list). At this point of time, there is not a provisional date for Scunny v Sheffield in the second round of the KOC. It will decided at a future date, after we beat Newcastle. PS No apology needed. If there is any questions about the fixtures, I prefer to know what they are, so that they can be clarified, and we can update the Scunny website where necessary. All the best Rob
IronScorpion
I am not too sure how Holubs ride cannot be taken into account & was part of a conversation with friends at the last meeting. My view on this is as he started the race it counts as a race & meeting. If he had touched the tapes & excluded or missed the 2 minutes & also replaced, he would not have started the meeting so would not have counted. As i have said before, trying to follow the Rules & Reg's is a nightmare. so it's best to enjoy the racing which we are blessed with at the EWR, win or lose(but not many Rob). Reading other forum threads, people are getting bored with gate-&-go saying tracks should be better prepared but the weather has a lot to say in this. Islander15
With May averages coming into force soon and Holub getting his average after Saturday's away trip you could swap Morris and Wilkinson for Compton and Proctor. 1. Josh Auty 7.43 2. Andre Compton 6.61 3. Ty Proctor 6.68 4. Alex Davies 6.53 5. Ryan Douglas 7.05 6. Zdenek Holub 5.00 7. Josh Bailey 3.00 42.30 But realistically I think it'll be Lyager in for Morris. But once Lyager gets an average they might be 3-4 points below the limit, so will another change be made? Good team but it'll never happen But Ummmm... Maybe if you could just umm, drop Holub so we can have him at Newcastle for Aarnio so I can have someone to look at, that would be appreciated

ScunnyDan
See P'boro have dropped MPT and Busk Jackobsen... Im sure MPT would be welcomed back at Scunny if he has been offered a chance.

eric i
Porsing would be a good rider, he scored paid 14 when Peterborough came to Scunny.

IronScorpion
According to our local paper, I would be very surprised if our team is not something like (after Glasgow meeting) Auty 743 Holub 500 Davies 653 Lyager 700 Douglas 705 Wilkinson 473 Bailey
thebaron
I just do not see Procter; Compton or MPT for all that; coming in. The commitment is clearly to Andreas Lyager; whom the management clearly rate (rightly IMO) as a great prospect. Someone has already said that when he came in late last season; straight away he looked capable of winning races. Rob has referred to his application and high standard machinery. I think we have to let Andreas have a run and see what he is capable of; then he is our asset and one we can look to for the future. Procter and Compton are short term fixes and do not add to the asset base of the club. We are all about developing young riders from here or abroad and when you look at the team including Andreas; its got a lot going for it. You only have to look at Peterborough; when they bounced us out 26-64 at the Showground they looked all over a class act. Suddenly they get a bad result or two and the cards go up in the air. I am all for giving the riders we trusted at the outset the chance to take us deeper into the season. Bottom line is the team is supportable; we will get knock backs but its how we deal with them and stick together and if we do we can reap the rewards. Everyone should try thinking along the lines of Leicester City as a team we may be bigger than the sum of our parts on paper. Lewis
Well I have to disagree with you outsider. I think we will end up with 3 reserve standard riders now in Bailey, Holub & Lyager, two of which are now in the main body .... with Wilko moving to reserve you could argue if he is on song he could take 7 rides but i think he will only be down there until the next set of averages. I really don't see where this optimism is coming for Lyager to score heavily, I remember seeing some very good foreign riders coming in and getting only a 6-7pt average in their first season... are we saying he is the same standard as Lasse Bjerre, Darcy Ward, Kenni Larsen etc when they first started?Anyway I hope you are right and if he is the rider brought in then I hope he is good and we do better as a team, I want to be entertained but I also would like to win, well at least the home meetings!
thebaron
Your fully entitled to your opinion Lewis; you may well be right; it is a gamble and as you say when Wilko moves up as he undoubtedly will then we could be exposed. But I have this belief that we have three great prospects in Little Josh; Holub and Lyager and if we could just stay with it we could reap the rewards. But its a results business and as with all sport what you do in the here and now is what counts on and off the track. All the best.
phillwhitewasmad
Personally I think I lyager is a great option but think the averages might see wilko in the main body boy holub but we will soon see.

Albert
To be honest, I don't think swapping Morris with Lyager will make us that much stronger, if indeed at all. What it does is add to the asset base, which I guess is the important thing. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong...As Holub and Lyager was/are assessed averaged riders...that means for team building purposes, their ave can't drop below five... And as assessed riders, we have to stick with them regardless for the remainder of the season?
