Reviresco
Can't find a line-up anywhere. The Kurtz boys, Sam Masters, Jack Holder, along with Taylor are all from NSW, I believe. The organisers had suggested that Doyle, Batchelor and Grajczonek would take part, but I think Doyle & Batchelor along with Chris Holder are all in the UK at the moment. Indications are that there will be time trials to decide on the 8 x riders to join 8 x seeded riders in a 16 x rider, 20 heat format with an A & B Final. As is described on the link, the meeting is being held on a 180 metre track in an indoor horse arena. Some cynics might suggest that, given the results of last weekend's two State qualifiers, that Taylor may find himself in the A Final... Not sure if the Updates site are planning on covering the NSW or the South Australian meetings, but it may be worth having a look on Saturday. Alan_Jones
New South Wales State Solo Championships this weekend. Could be an interesting one considering who may be taking part and where its being held: http://entertainmentvenues.com.au/events/544/NSW_SOLO_SPEEDWAY_CHAMPIONSHIPS/ Interesting to see that it's on a 180m indoor track and that NSW riders Masters & Tungate are riding in the SA championship at Gillman on the same night. Reviresco
As you say Alan, interesting that Masters and Tungate are going to ride at Gillman and not at Tamworth...
smod
This NSW meeting will be a pretty strange fruit. The meeting is spread over two days, with at least 135 races in all sorts of age groups, bike types and engines. Masters and Tungate are opting to go to a "proper" speedway meeting in Adelaide. The Tamworth show will possible throw up a few unexpected names. One (fairly) local name who will be pretty keen to qualify would be Kozza Smith, who lost out up in the Queensland title event through an engine failure. "interesting" as in, "damn fiddle to get riders work permits". It's become a bit of a joke but then some of us predicted this last winter. I'd be saying only top 8 Aussies in the Oz title get work permits, after all, work permits are meant to only be for the very best!

Because the system is being fiddled when riders are not riding in the meeting to allow others a better chance of finishing top 4.
jenga
since when was the system not fiddled to allow a rider/team a better chance of qualification ? . it does not matter what you or i say ,we and others will always have a different outlook of how the rules are implemented . Sam masters already had the criteria for the 2016 season . his governing body told him to miss the meeting . wich he did , but wasn't happy . to Sam it was another payday . but to other riders , inc the aus federation (or whatever they are called )it was a means of getting another aussie in the uk league . fair play to them . its a bit like Joe screen shadowing mark loram and thus helping him to a world title . no difference at all . SCB
But if they dumb down the state finals, UKVI will clamp down again and insist on harder qualification criteria. If Campton/Poole can win a state final but go on to fail to average 7 again it's surely indicative of the fact state finals are not representative of a rider ability, thats only bad for Aus speedway in general. Blackadder
I agree. It won't take much for UKVI to change the qualifying criteria. Riders need to be aware.

Given that the UKVI have agreed to a 5.00 starting average this season (rather than the 7.00 last year) it seems as though they are accepting dumbing down already. jenga
a bit like pupils G.C.S.E.,s etc . make to pass rate go up by dumbing down the criteria , but in theory it an easier option . i dont see there is a case to answer to . as you say , this year its a 5, next year it could be a 6 or even back to a 7 . speedway has to move with the criteria given. its just one of those things .ya know , like getting working tax credit ,getting it took off you and then the powers that be realizing their mistake and reinstalling it . councils do the same ,so do police . whats up with you , has someone just told you about santa claus ? Masters and tungate wont be at the nsw titles because the meeting is a joke. An untried venue running 5 million classes is a recipe for disaster. If you think the qld title was a fiddle to get work permits its time to remove your tinfoil hat. Victoria on the other hand was a bit of a fiddle by being a closed shop event and not allowing riders from other states to enter.

jenga
Whats happened to santa claus? Will he alright by the 24th? it has been confirmed that santa will be drunk in charge of a sleigh on the 24th .. . but the cops cant touch him or arrest him because its an unwritten rule ! its like the three wheeler rule . you can drive it on a motorbike licence , but its a car really .the theory behind this rule is that motorcycles dont have a reverse gear. but some do. you cant have someone sit next to you in the car, cos its classed as a bike i .but they can sit behind in the back seat . i used to have one, pretty lethal most of the time . even though i had passed my car test, i was committing an offence by driving a bike. police dont know what to do about it .its a bit of a grey area . (like my head) can anyone shed some light on this . do you know S.C.B. , you know everything else ? No the only one that is unfair is Victoria. Nsw titles still is an open meeting with a soild field. Queensland and South aus both have fields almost as strong as an aussie championship round and any rider that qualifies through has earned it
