Mark
So,does that last sentence mean they are looking at changing the race day to avoid a clash with football? The Premier League is massive all over Europe and so is Spanish football, which kicks off later, on Sunday.
f-s-p
Over and out for ZKS Ostrovia as they are bankrupt and resigned from the league. Probably Wroclaw will stage their meetings there. I'm not a massive Szymanski fan at the moment, but with whats going on in his sport and having made huge deals like with PGE for example, it cant be that easy for him either... Mark
UK has no football from mid May to Mid August, so clash would be limited. In most years I would agree but we have 2016 Euro's through mid May to Mid June.
SCB
In most years I would agree but we have 2016 Euro's through mid May to Mid June. But isn't that played most days? Rather than Sunday afternoons which is the issue here. Â Â Out of curiosity, who are the riders who look like being left job-less due to clubs closing? Ghostwalker
Greg will likely ride for Torun next year. Confirmation will be announced after Greg have talked to sponsors in Torun. Ghostwalker
How much can a top flight and middle tier rider expect to earn in Poland ? Anyone know please.  This article gives you an idea of the approximate salary for top riders.  https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsportowefakty.wp.pl%2Fzuzel%2F549274%2Fjaroslaw-hampel-walczy-o-kase-z-falubazu-moze-stracic-prawie-pol-miliona-zlotych&edit-text=  The article "assumes" that Hampel for 2015 were paid some 850'000 zloty (~£140'000GBP) as a fixed sum and on top of that earns 5000 zloty (£820GBP) per point. Imo I think that at least the points money in reality are slightly higher then assumed by Sportowefakty. I also think we can assume that riders like Emil, Nicki, Greg and Tai, likely earns more then Hampel. So I don't know but maybe 7-8-thousand for those 4 riders? arnieg
League 2 looks a bit thin.  Lublin, Krosno and Pila from last year  Possibly Czestochowa returning from bankruptcy and Poznan who seem to be gearing up for a return???  Any other candidates? Little wonder why clubs are broke on those earnings. Gate receipts must be a very small portion of pay.
Trees
Sounds like the Polish clubs need to review their outgoings!!!!
uk_martin
...Gate receipts must be a very small portion of pay. Â That may well be the case. Sponsorship plays a huge part in the finances of Polish clubs. And look who the sponsors are...all major national companys. In Britain, you might get Sid's Wholesale Electrical Shop as a title sponsor of an EL team, in Poland you have the Polish equivilents of NPower, British Gas, etc. Massive companys with massive budgets for massive sponsorship deals. No wonder if one (SPAR??? possibly???) dishonours it's sponsorship agreement and doesn't pay up, it throws a speedway team (Falubaz ZG) into financial turmoill. Trees
Perhaps the Poles, like GB, will have to learn not to rely on huuuuge sponsorship deals so much!
PolskiZuzel
Perhaps the Poles, like GB, will have to learn not to rely on huuuuge sponsorship deals so much! Â Talking about GB...does anyone know how, or who is financing British clubs. Do riders get monthly salaries? or are they paid at the end of the seasonal contracts. How much do they get paid? Do they get paid for points scored, or perhaps for each won match. Do riders get extra pay for scoring every point they can? How much income, in percentage, clubs draw from paying public, and how much from sponsorships? Rough figures will do. Thanks.

All the questions you ask are difficult to answer because none of the information is in the public domain. The Elite league clubs have income from - TV money, sponsorship, gate receipts, programme sales and a few lucky ones have bar and catering income( kings lynn, Leicester and next season Belle Vue). Riders will get paid per points per match, some will be on minimum guarantee and some will have signing on fees. as an educated guess I would suggest that in general riders would be paid in Sweden 3 x GB rates and Poland 6 x GB rates. it was reported that Emil was on £1500 per point in Czestochowa a couple of years ago(not that he got it all)
Ghostwalker
R&R quite possible but you also have to have in mind that the riders ride much less meetings in Sweden/Poland compared to UK. In Elitserien (excluding "play offs") there is a potential of 16 meetings / season so compared on a season total the difference is probably smaller then what it might look like if you look at the points money.only. uk_martin
Prem Pawlicki has left Leszno and joined Gorzow.  That photo's a bit of a blast from the past isn't it? lol  http://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/564536/oficjalnie-przemyslaw-pawlicki-w-stali-gorzow  Don't be surprised if Baby PP heads over to Gorzow...nothing certain like, but PP1 & PP2 were always marketed as a package in the past, so where one goes the other may well follow. Now, PP2 + BZ wouldn't be a bad reserve pairing would they? Edited December 5, 2015 by uk martin
