fullbore
Just as well the title's sorted! Mind if the World Champ is barred from racing it could be the end of a GP in Oz. niamh

A ORLOV
Surely he has duel nationality Knowing that he would want to visit and ride in both countries you would have thought he would have it.
spiegal
Mr Woffinen has NO problems with a visa. One of his back up team has delayed in applying
screm
Retaliation for the problems here last spring? Hopefully just a gesture by the aussies. That`s one helluva retaliation from those Aussies, stopping the new World Champ competing in the first GP in Australia in years, thus wiping thousands off the crowd. SCB
Retaliation for the problems here last spring? Hopefully just a gesture by the aussies. I doubt the Aussie border/immigration people have paid any attention to a few speedway riders in the UK. In fact I'd imagine some jobs-worth immigration officer in Aus being quite pleased/admiring that we're taking a tougher stance!
Grachan
Surely he has duel nationality He wouldn't be eligible for Australian nationality. He wasn't born there, his parents are British and he moved away before he was 16. http://www.beyderwellen.com/immigration-questions/2.html#FAQ2 Edited October 12, 2015 by grachan

On the same basis then how come the British immigration authorities paid attention to them then? As has been revealed from an authoritative source it's a bungle. Because it's British immigration authorities duties to pay attention to anyone who wants to enter the UK, especially if those who want to enter also want work in the UK. Positive Thinker
Perhaps, as someone has said, part of Tai's back-up team is the problem. Like most countries, Australia's visa application people probably check on applicants' backgrounds? Maybe a past conviction, or something? If this were the case, Tai might have go to Australia one man down, hire in a local helper? Grachan
To get this right both Tai's parents were Australian citizens but he wasn't Depends if they applied for it or not. They wouldn't get it automatically.

It appears British immigration has a lot more to worry about than a few Aussie blokes riding motorbikes for a few quid.

waiheke1
its not tai that has the issue, its one of his support team. a sportsperson entering for a major event would have no issues unless they had serious criminal convictions (and being denied entry to aussie becausecyou were a convict is quite ironic)
