Mr Blobby
We both know that's not true. You're not that short sighted. Let's remember this discussion and if the Embra beggin bowl comes out before or during next season we can discuss again. Having said that, the largest part of Embra's expenditure won't be there next year. He probably won't be. Anyway enjoy your night George and even you Gaz May the best team win.

cyclone
On another point, as it appears you were are Ashfield last night, did you do the research with parents "as to whether they would prefer taking their offspring to Possilpark on a Sunday afternoon or a Friday evening/night"? And did you take the opportunity to investigate ... Take it you were not at Ashfield last night or you could have carried out the investigation on behalf your Promotion As you will note it was a question I asked as not unreasonably I would have expected your Promotion to have enquired of their paying customers as to their preference. Have you asked your Promotion about this ?
tyretrax
Not at all Edinburgh as a club wouldn't even consider riding on the same night as our nearest rivals. It's more principle than anything else. They now want fans to boycott Armadale as a result of this disagreement again Edinburgh wouldn't sink to such a level. The new owners bully tactics are quite frankly not on and as a club we will not lie down to them as we are better than that. They seem to think they can throw their money around and get what they want well they will soon learn that ain't going to happen that's for sure. Also other things they have done through out the season has been shocking and lacking class. For example evicting a rider from his flat and leaving him on the streets. I think you'll find that Friday was Glasgow's race night until we were approached by Edinburgh to allow them Fridays so that they could run at Powderhall.

Have you asked your Promotion about this ? Like your style cyclone, delegate to others. If you have a concern, why not look into it yourself. Get up off your arse, springs to mind. If you did, you'd know the promotion have already researched this. Long time ago in fact. You seem to have much interest in Glasgow's well-being, so surprised your genuine concerns haven't unearthed this already. Friday nights is what the public want. Try Google or FB, I'm sure you'll also see a copy of the Facennas letter at Armdale tonight, one of your supporters will no doubt be waving it around and getting off on it. Gazc
The brothers knew it was a Sunday afternoon racing when they bought the it. So why try and change the race day Because they asked the most important people the FAN'S what they wanted and the overwhelming majority want Friday night, & also the business model in place means a change off race night suits the model to A. Attract more rider's as a Sunday is prohibitive to some B. They see it as a must have to situation to maximise the earning potential As all successful business men would do to look after there interest's instead they come up against people that are only interested in there own self preservation instead off trying to maximise there own business and worry about what other people are doing. Not rocket science really well not for business minded people anyway. He probably won't be. Anyway enjoy your night George and even you Gaz May the best team win. Im on the P*ss tonight and the p*ss take whatever the outcome i intend to enjoy myself.
george.m
All this talk about Glasgow on Fridays will take fans away from Edinburgh. OK let's put some context on this. How many Glasgow fans on average go to Edinburgh each meeting (excluding Glasgow meetings)? How may neutrals on average got to Edinburgh each meeting (excluding Glasgow meetings)? For worst case scenario, multiply the total figure, by what say £20, which assumes programme and drink. And there's the amount of money Edinburgh think they need each week, that they won't get. TheScotsman
I assume at the end of the day the BSPA will make the decision. As per the rules, Glasgow have made an application / Edinburgh have raised an objectyon. It will be interesting to know the views of the other PL teams about having to do 2 Fridays in sunny Scotland.

MD
Anyway back to the meeting and Glasgow were their own worst enemy with a ridiculous number of tapes exclusions in the opening half of the meeting. Sarjeant led the charge at reserve consistently outscoring his opposite number at reserve and we need more of the same tonight. I've not made up my mind if Carr improves or seriously improves the Monarchs at reserve. A tough battle ahead. Hopefully Theo can do us a turn though r/r for Summers may not be ideal with Morris taking 3 rides to get going. I'll be glued to the updates heat by heat, would be a bonus if someone could provide less subjective analysis via the Speedway Updates site. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Question is DO any Edinburgh fans support Glasgow and vice versa? Will Fridays for Glasgow really affect the Edinburgh fan base? Surely it's like asking whether any Lynn fans support Ipswich every week? Bloody no lol quite agree Trees - the thought of the Witches needing a Lynn fan, his wife and his sister to keep going leaves me cold...... we can do without both of them!!! wink
Cliffeboy
Not sure if it is relevant Somerset and Plymouth ride on the same night, roughly twice the distance though between the clubs. From a neutral viewpoint I think any change that can help a club should be encouraged .
