Paulco
Can the BSPA bring a ban against Sarggent for bringing the sport into disrepute. More importantly where do I get a bet on that he will break the tapes or get a warning tonight. Junior In what way is he bringing the sport into disrepute ? And i don't think any reputable bookie will have a book on James being warned tonight
MD
While this meeting is great for Scottish speedway its also bad for it with all this petty bickering. Why does speedway constantly shoot its self in the foot. Ok the meeting dragged on a bit, cant really blame Glasgow for the crashes/injuries or even the false starts. Yes I think their presentation/timings could be better but over time im sure it will improve. What I can blame Glasgow on is the timing of 'that letter'. Fair enough Glasgow promoters are annoyed at Edinburgh promotion but talk about bad timing now people are talking about race nights rather than the biggest meetings of each clubs history. IMO Edin shouldn't have a veto on deciding if they can race Fri night it should be discussed at AGM and all teams have a vote (ideally an independent body but will avoid that discussion for now). Absolutely agree, with current arrangements it extends Edinburghs sphere of influence far wider than it should be. Edinburghs franchise should be reduced to a radius of 15 or 20 miles from Edinburgh city centre and Glasgow likewise. As it is Armadale is almost on the border of North Lanarkshire and that should be the farthest point considered east.

Junior He can get excluded/fined as it is ,do you ban every rider who "anticipates" the start. Its frustrating but the Ref is the one who controls the buttons. We have seen from TV that it's 50/50 whether it was good start or a "flyer" from the rider concerned, maybe they have to look at the Refs.

But Junior is unaware of that , like most of the Monarch's faithful Junior has decided James is somehow cheating everytime he goes to the tapes . Thankfully James seems a strong character and this sort of hysterical reaction to him wont bother him one iota . Referees are a different problem however and it seems everytime James makes a decent start , legitamate or not , refs panic and pull the race back . Heat 11 last night being a wonderful exception
KIRKYLANE
As a general opinion and nothing for or against James S. , the flyer has become a pain which referees need to stamp on. Firstly, if a rider moves exactly at the moment the ref has pressed the start button , he must let the race go on. However , if a rider moves before he has pressed the start button then conversely he must stop the race. Personally , I think there should be an immediate fine for delaying the start of the race....say £100 coupled with a warning that if it happens again he wil be excluded from the race. If nothing is done other than re-running the race then some riders will take a chance that they will get away with it.... The fine is to deter this attitude.
Mr Blobby
So no summers or Branford for tonight. Edinburgh will use Liam Carr in place of rob. Glasgow will use Theo pijper in place of kauko nieminen and will operate R/R for summers. Personally not got a good feeling about tonight for some reason. Hopefully I'm wrong. TheScotsman
Sad news about Spud and Rob. Hope they make a quick recovery. Doesn't make a big difference overall to weegies with theo being an improvement over the previous r/r and new r/r being a slight loss over Spud's scoring. The loss of Rob will hit us a bit more though - hope Max is fit and has sorted out his bike problems. Also need Erik to come up with scores from his first race. Other than that our top 4 need to be on the very top of their game all the way through. We might nick it but I'm concerned. Might depend on how Sarj goes/gates. Paulco
Let's do what Somerset did in the KO Cup final . They had a similar first leg lead as we do and nobody thought it would be enough , but it was . Come on Glasgow , you can do this

The track was wet and the lighting was poor it could do with a few more as the track was awful dark and and few of the boys said it was as dark as it looked out there. but it's the same for both teams and your boys rode it better. Let's do what Somerset did in the KO Cup final . They had a similar first leg lead as we do and nobody thought it would be enough , but it was . Come on Glasgow , you can do this I think you will just don't feel like we are riding well enough at the moment to pull it back. Mr Blobby
Heat 2 is huge tonight. Not just heat 2 what they do for the rest of the night as well IMO. Their reserves scored 16+2 compared to our 3+1.
george.m
Safe to assume intellectual interpretation is not your forte then if you cannot comprehend my response Safe to assume it's not yours! There is a logic to my assumptions as is clear for all to see by the points made. You sir, show no evidence to back up your assumptions. And attack the poster not the post, which is usually the case when someone has no evidence to back up their post. On another point, as it appears you were are Ashfield last night, did you do the research with parents "as to whether they would prefer taking their offspring to Possilpark on a Sunday afternoon or a Friday evening/night"? And did you take the opportunity to investigate ... "In the past couple of years I recall exiting Ashfield at the end of a Sunday derby to find the police controlling crowd movement as they had taped off an area surrounding the Ashfield Bar. Do you or any of your pals recall this and what had happened ?" Or were these just veiled digs at Glasgow speedway, whilst purporting to be concerned about people's welfare? damosuzuki
Can't shout this either way, but I think Monarchs just didn't seem to be 100% last night and we were but also we rode our luck - for Hyneks points in particular. To be quite honest I feel as if anything could happen.... Pijper could be important. Remember some of our performances last time at Armadale. Hopefully Massive crowd, good entertainment and this weekend is remembered only as a great speedway weekend for Scotland. May the best team win.
