BWitcher
That's not the same at all. Please feel free to continue to bang the same drum as you and your mate Hilly quite blatantly haven't read all of my posts. ALL existing Sky (only) subscribers will HAVE to pay an extra £20 per month or change broadband provider. So nope, were not being forced to do anything at all are we?!? Is it that hard to comprehend..? You don't have to do anything. If you want to watch GP speedway, that is your choice. Same as if you want to go and see Poole race, funnily enough, you pay for it. Have a pop at poor old Matt Ford for making you HAVE to do that. Google it mate, its not difficult to understand, lots of different boxes with different addons to improve the viewing, like I said previously, a strong broadband connection is vital, but other bits n bobs will improve the picture quality, simple things like the positioning of your wifi box, Ethernet connection, turn off other items using your wifi, like phones, tablets etc while watching the live stream, quality of processor in your tv, and the stream itself needs to be good as well, not a case of pressing 401 granted, but im sure we can put up with setting the box up to work right, and for 2/3 hours of the event we are watching once or twice a week, we can deal with the ordeal! I stand corrected, you are spot on. Do you know anything about VPN, google it if you don't I remember back in the day before digital tv, you had analogue tv boxes, ntl (before it was virgin) was easy to watch all the channels for free, "my mate" had a chipped ntl analogue tv box for years! £4.99 a month he paid for 5 years or so, and got every single channel going. All the ppv boxing events, even the "adult channels"! Just to have a look and to see whats available, go onto ebay, and search sky f5 box, then google the correct model and see what you can do. A few of my other mates have got these f5 boxes! Iv never really looked into getting one myself, seems a bit too naughty tbh, but they are out there, and pretty simple to set up That's more like it on price for product, same as everything here though isn't it, a complete p*** take. Iv had enough of it Meanwhile others end up paying more because of scroungers, or more accurately I should say thieves, like yourself who want everything handed to them on a plate for free.. psycho3a
Done the same, although I went for this deal https://www.plus.net/deals/unlimited/line-only/1516affoffer7/?WT.mc_id=aff_003exv&WT.mc_id=aff_003aa Only 12 months free broadband, but £75 cash back and only 12 month contract. As you say though, BT sport is only £9.99 and can be added or removed when you like so will just have it April - October and cash back will pay for that. Were do you get BT sport at £9.99 ?? I can only see stand alone for Sky Subscribers without broadband ot tv its £19.99 or £23.99 for HD ? http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/bt-sport-on-sky-packages?s_intcid=con_sportoverview_to_skyonly Am i missing a deal ?? You need to be a Plusnet broadband customer. See Plusnet website here - choose Sky Digital Satelite Platformv option, not Youview. https://www.plus.net/tv/btsport/
OveFundinFan
and Plusnet is owned by BT, hence the deals on Plusnet.

george.m
Funny to think a few years ago people were saying here we need more speedway on TV. Nowadays we're debating about how to watch it. How times change.
oldace
All this talk but if people want to watch it they will find a way ..... bloody gp series! Yep. One way is to ditch watching live leauge speedway and put the money to BT sport. That way you get to watch something worth watching at the expense of a pile of crap. Bloody league matches

The more commonplace that knowledge becomes the greater the likelihood that BSI and those they have sold rights to will get it stopped. I'm amazed it's survived this long. No matter what the bitching over money and access the sport is getting coverage from a broadcaster that has a record for producing excellent, intelligent coverage, except amongst those who have become accustomed to Sky's trivial, sensationalist approach where it's all about opinion and broadcast gimmicks, not the actual sport. There is a market for that though and I wonder if speedway only belongs at that level. The change could be just what the sport needs, but does it deserve it and will it respect the fact? History doesn't encourage you. Eurosport 'dropped the ball' far too many times this year and their handling of the Swedish coverage was shambolic beyond words. I'm relieved they're gone. In fairness, I find Sky's cricket coverage to be pretty good, but it's the only thing worth paying their ridiculous prices for. It's good there's now some competition in the market, if not to break the monopoly of having to pay for a package of things you don't actually want. martin_t
Rather than go through all this thread. You could download Modbro and get all Sky/BT/Eurosport channels for free ...but they are obviously illegal streams and I would hate anyone to watch that sort of thing. Technically, that's not the case, and if the tv companies use that as an excuse for raising prices, they are talking out of their "rear-ends"!! The programmes/channels are blocked off, you don't pay to get them sent! And to be honest, my guess is, the reason the prices rise all the time would be more your doing than mine for agreeing to pay Murdoch and his mates the stupid prices they charge already!! Don't come back with any nonsense. If people didn't pay, there would be no live speedway. That's the reality. Most of us have watched 'illegal' streams at one time or another, but we don't try and claim that it's all above board. Starman2006
I had a call from BT today, they said as a valued customer we want to try and help you. I said, oh good, you'l give me BT sport for nothing ? She had a look and came up with £49 70, i said no thanks, that is the equivelent of 10 months payments.. A ORLOV
If you have Bt Internet and phone package I think you get BT sport for free. Think you will find that was only for an initial period. BT have announced that after one year there will be a charge for BT Sport.

The more people mention alternatives to paying for sports TV the greater the inevitability that they will be found and closed down. Yes others will pop up in the same way that The Pirate Bay still is out there. Ultimately I'd rather pay a fair price and get a stable HD picture that doesn't keep buffering or falling out completely. It's Sky's greed that's fuelled this piracy, along with that of the film and music industry in the case of illegal downloads. Obviously there will always be some that want something for nothing but when you look at the obscene money corrupting football just remember it comes out of the pockets of the ordinary TV sports fan. Inevitably there will be undercutting of the market - at least now it's coming legally from BT. I just wish the BSPA hadn't signed a five year deal with Sky....
