A ORLOV
Hmm, that's me beggered then for watching any kind of speedway on television...absolutely no way I am paying an extra £20 a month for a couple of meetings. You can always follow them on a system called Speedway Updates, it is very good. I wonder if any if the texters can wear a head cam
fullbore
Any channel you want can be added to the box, most boxes have just about any channel you can think of, but my mate didn't have the f1 channel on his, so via a search menu on xmbc he simply added it himself, its that simple, google it, have a look Still like to test the systemout on my tablet before buying a box, so how do I do that? 2ndbendbeerhut
its legal to view the streams due to running xmbc, why would amazon risk selling illegal devices? The dodgy part is running xmbc on a jailbroken device, normally you pay for that programme, but jailbroken, you don't, its already on the tv box, you pay for the broadband to watch the stream, and you pay for the tv box. Nothing illegal about it at all Any channel you want can be added to the box, most boxes have just about any channel you can think of, but my mate didn't have the f1 channel on his, so via a search menu on xmbc he simply added it himself, its that simple, google it, have a look So its your mate that has a box and not you? So you dont own one then and know what it takes?

And according to somebody on our forum, theres also £30 joining fee...So those what say i can do this and that to get it are singing in the wind, unless they can PROVE otherwise. Im a BT customer, and i'l also have to pay. Edited November 6, 2015 by Starman2006

Im a BT customer, and i'l also have to pay. If your a BT broadband customer its £5 a month through Sky. I did pay £13.99 amonth but it has since gone up to £19.99 after they bought more rights and extended the service, I'm not a BT customer. I don't remember ever paying a signing on fee for it. I find BT sport far superior in what content they provide and id ditch Sky altogether if EL speedway moved anywhere else.  BT sport is also available on the 2 bigger packages Virgin do in which one is 34 quid a month plus line rental. I'm giving that some serious thought although the missus will be upset if we lost the F1 channel!
kelvinht
Hmm...trying to work this out. BT website is not particularly clear. I'm a BT broadband customer (not infinity as I live in the a**e end of nowhere). I only want to be able to watch GP's on my PC either real time or catch up. As far as I can tell I have to pay a one-off £49 to get a BT view box and can then throw it away and just watch via my PC. Seems excessive. Bit more investigation required... We have BT broadband ( fibre broadband) and it seems we will pay £5 a month to get BT sports. I'm not sure why Puggy and Shovvy are saying theirs is free? flagrag
Nigel and Kelvin are not on exclusive Sky contracts for commentary so there will not any problems with them doing the world feed that BT will likely use. Â It would be more of a problem if BT wanted them to present the show or doing a magazine style programme in the week although you may find less references to GP in EL coverage next year. I just hope that BSI have made the right choice for the long term future of the series rather than just looking at the rights income as will now be on a substantially lower viewer basis which UK sponsors may not be so keen to be involved I do know that BT sports adverts are cheaper than Sky's as not so many impressions of your ad

The three years they missed after years of coverage produced a British winner twice. Â Just think, if they had offered 1/12 of what they paid for screening Stoke v Palace or West Brom V Swansea they could easily have had the 3 year contract for the GPs. Â One payment equivalent to one Sky football match would change the sport in this country for the better for decades.
crumpiefan
Have to say i'm pretty disappointed with this news....i appreciate the finances involved but (how naive does THIS sound) it would have been nice if the powers that be had given more thought to the average fan. With no virgin media in my area (huge office half a mile away but no service??!!) and having had many problems with bt in the past i guess thats that. Yes very disappointing

crumpiefan
I'm sure there's a way round it. Its just being a massive technophobe i don't fancy the idea of change! And it is a fact that at a time when - though of course relative compared to more mainstream sports like football cricket tennis golf - speedway has possibly a bigger profile here than in the preceding years due to tai's success, the gps are going to be more difficult or more expensive to access
Paddi
Keep Sky TV but change broadband to BT or Plusnet and you'll get BT sport on sky platform cheaper than that.  By my maths I can get broadband with weekend calls and BT sport HD on sky platform for £28 (SD £26).  This compares with my current broadband provider £17.40 + an extra £19.99 SD or £23.99 HD.  Obviously you pay your sky subscription on top of both options. Can't change broadband provider if you live in Hull - we only have one! (KComs)

I will make enquiries but i won't hold my breath for joy. If i get away with £5 a mth and nothing else to pay i would be awfully suprised... But don't ask don't get.. Wiseguy
I get my internet through bt When I switched about 3 years ago I signed an 18 month contract and they gave me bt sports for free  When I was coming to the end of my contract they contacted me and I said throw in the bt sports for the length of the contract again and I will sign up again  Will keep trying the same, anyone with a bt contract that is expiring, tell them you want free bt sports to sign again, they will agree
