Regional Cups

How about a season opening Regional Cup competition e.g Poole Swindon, Plymouth, Somerset Allow the PL teams an EL guest from another region and work your way up thru the country in 4 team bites would give EL Fans a few different riders/teams to see and same for PL could have sw v lon semi etc if it goes well

whoops probably posted this in wrong area, could someone who is good at fingerpoken move it to the correct one.

the alternative is the elite teams go without their number 1s as it was in the british league cup back in 2002 or 3 when Trelawny beat Wolves bfair and square it gives a run of local derbies which should give a bit of a financial boost. by the way why are they called derbys?

Though on a smaller scale, one or two PL have regional cups already, Glasgow and Edinburgh for for the Spring Trophy, a trophy which is not much more than a spring nailed to a piece of wood. Berwick and Newcastle have raced for the Cock of the North Trophy, trophy is still in the design stage.

Am I right in thinking john Thomas is designing that one?

By the way...is the Cock Of The North trophy for the team or the manager?.

It's actually a big lad in the crowd. He's followed into the toilets by many blokes trying to sneak a quick look. if he has to use the pedestal toilet he complains the water is cold.

For the first meeting of the season, lets have the first meeting of the 2016 League, one month in the season say June, fit all the silly cups in. At the end of the season Play offs, fours, pairs and PLRC.

Good idea.

And for some more common sense, Have the Fours & PLRC on a Saturday night(preferably an EL track) to attract more fans!!

I would like to see the KOC scrapped, bring back 4`s qualifiers for a Finals day at an EL track, the new stadium at Belle Vue maybe, though from a personal point of view I am quite happy with the EoES.

Amen to that. My first speedway memories are of driving with my Dad and Grandad to Edin fri, Ber Sat, Glas Sun and New monday. Used to love those weekends.

Personally - I like the Four Team Tournament format.

Sunderland won a Four Team Tournament once against Teeside, Berwick and Workington.

Happy days!!

I think that my first 'away' meeting was a 4TT at Eastbourne, involving Romford, Rayleigh and Canterbury.

I do prefer Pairs meetings though, as it encourages team riding which is i.m.o. one of the essences of speedway racing.

Then of course Mr Gollob has been known to 'team ride' in World Team Cup events which are effectively 4TT's.
