peterborough daz
Barker had agreed a deal with Panthers until he got the call from the Glasgow promotion offering what has been described as something he simply cannot refuse
damosuzuki
I'm sure Glasgow atm are offering good cash, but I also believe the environment must appeal - wouldn't have thought the Facenna's would be deliberately throwing money away. Glasgow havebeen poor relations for years so for me it's just great to see things going better, and also facilities put in place and fans of the future being brought along. Must agree about the Glasgow Edinburgh rivalry. There's a couple of idiots but by and large it's good natured, and for both clubs it's fantastic. I bet loads of clubs would kill for a derby like tat. TheScotsman
Interesting that Barker dropped his average so much. Almost Wolbert-esque.

Something like that maybe?

TheScotsman
He broke his back. Nope.... He started the season on 8.91. He was down to 7.55 when he broke his back. Finally! One of the Monarchs breaks ranks and publicly admits Wolbert dropped his average. Really? Where did I say that? I just said barker dropped his average a lot. (Conveniently for Glasgow.) You're spending too much time in the East End George. Or the East End season ticket holders are spreading their influence.
sparkafag
The broken back did indeed come after the broken hand suffered early in the season….to be fair though that’s nothing compared to a dose of the sh*ts after a dodgy bratwurst, not many know the suffering you have to endure after that. damosuzuki
Barker's average dropped after he broke his hand, and he failed to build it back up after breaking his back.... it's a fix!?!?
To The Point
It's quite simply the biggest rivalry in British speedway , so sometimes it's going to get a wee bit messy on here . It's all good fun really Thought that was Berwick Supporters Club and Berwick Promotion

damosuzuki
Lambert to Newcatle means that at least some of the crazy theories about Glasgow next season are out the window. Hopefully Ricardo confirmed next.

EnglishRoundabout
Just popped into this thread. Have the Tigers signed Nick Morris as well as Barker? Should be interesting with those two in the team. Certainly were bitter rivals recently.
