Gazc
At the League Cup Final, it was noticeable that there were a large number of young children present. I wonder if anyone has consulted their parents as to whether they would prefer taking their offspring to Possilpark on a Sunday afternoon or a Friday evening/night It is not the Bronx as some would have you believe but it is just talk at the moment it may not even happen so we will just have to wait & see. Friday nights safer outside Ashfield stadium, than Friday nights inside Armadale stadium.
Fromafar
Don't think Tigers running on a Friday would affect Monarchs crowd these days. They generally boycott each each other now except at Derby matches.Casual fans are thin on the ground nowadays.
montie
Have to feel that Glasgow are now an attractive proposition for riders with big crowds, great sponsors, top class pits\showers! and no danger of not getting paid. A mate of mine once said that to me,he worked at Barings Bank!!......... Edited October 5, 2015 by montie
damosuzuki
I enjoy a trip through to Armadale on Occasion. So I'd miss being able to do that, and I really want a succesfull Glasgow AND Edinburgh club (as long as we beat them) but tbh Fri suits me. That's it decided then, I'll stick a request in. Half seven start, pies and pastries from half six. No dogs, goggles must be worn.

cyclone
Friday nights safer outside Ashfield stadium, than Friday nights inside Armadale stadium. Like to back that claim up with impartial evidence , Not aware of any incidents at Armadale stadium requiring police attendance - can the same be said for the Possilpark area surrounding the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium ? In the past couple of years I recall exiting Ashfield at the end of a Sunday derby to find the police controlling crowd movement as they had taped off an area surrounding the Ashfield Bar. Do you or any of your pals recall this and what had happened ?

Gazc
As is the case in 99.9% off community pubs all over Scotland not just Possil there has, will & continue to be a variety off incidents inside and outside these pubs this s**t is I'm afraid part & parcel off society. To put the record straight on your concerns on Possil it is no worse or better than riddrie or Westerhaile s or the west side of Gorgie but you get the point. BTW I suspect George was being facetious and ripping the p*ss Edited October 5, 2015 by Gazc

In the past couple of years I recall exiting Ashfield at the end of a Sunday derby to find the police controlling crowd movement as they had taped off an area surrounding the Ashfield Bar. Do you or any of your pals recall this and what had happened ? Well I was joking, so if you need to be serious. And if you do want to be serious with posters, why aren't you commenting on MrB's post which some could if they wish take offensive? I wonder why not? I'm not saying Ashfield or it's surroundings is perfect. Nor any better or worse than Armadale. So to answer you're question directly .... yes, I have personally experienced excessive foul language at Armadale to such an extend that on one occasion it led to my wife no longer attending, nor allowing my daughter to attend. The person doing it ... a middle aged woman in the "shed" using very industrial language in front of my 10 year old at the time and her cousin, standing directly in front of her as was my wife. Oh and she also had to be restrained by one another supporter. First derby meeting this year at Ashfield a female Embra supporter (and I know who she is!) was accusing all and sundry around her of deliberately blocking her view, walking on her space (she was standing in a passageway ... doh!) hit my wife with her programme and then deliberately stood on her foot. I will not put in a public forum what we all thought of her. So if you want to make this a serious issue, I'd have a more impartial view if I was you because some Edinburgh supporters are not well behaved!
damosuzuki
No dogs won't be many at Ashfield if that's the case. Ideally we would buy the Ashfield bar and turn it into part of the club, I don't think it's the most salubrious of places to be next to the field of dreams - fair enough something like that at the back of Armadale wouldn't look out of place, and might be popular with our east coast friends, but it's not in keeping with the new surroundings. SharpenRake
If Glasgow were to race on a Friday, if teams wanted they could visit Sheffield Thursday, Edinburgh Friday and Berwick Saturday. The other 3 dayer Glasgow Friday, Workington Saturday and Newcastle Sunday. Sorted!

One of the pub regulars dropped a pound coin in the car park and the stampede from the fourth bend caused total chaos .
cyclone
See the usual suspects fail to answer the question originally asked. You fail to recognise that family groups with young kids might prefer Sunday meetings at Ashfield and could give it a miss venturing to Possilpark on Friday night. Still if it keeps the old goats happy to enjoy a late night visit to the pub on a Friday after the Speedway, never mind if the attendances drop.
damosuzuki
But it's not to do with the boozing - it's for rider availability. I prefer the Sunday, but we may need to change to accomodate foreign league times. I don't see Friday being an issue in terms of Possil at all. If you have venture around the vicinity it's a nice enough bit - plus it's during the summer, so it's light. It is a predominantly working class area and there is a lovely bowling club just across the road where I'm sure people play all through the summer in the evenings. There are buses / trains / car parking right outside. If it doesn't happen, fair enough but I'd like to get the opportunity to use riders who are in the Ekstralige for exmple. Anyway, probably won't happen.

Out off the thousands off pubs across the central belt you want to know about an incident as you put it that happened 2 years ago which just happens to be in the vicinity off Ashfield, Im afraid it is off no relevance to the here & now contrary to what you think.
