MD
I know it's only January , but I shudder to think what state the track is in , it hasn't stopped raining for about 6 weeks . Pre season training starts today , lunchtime meet up in the Horseshoe Bar Makes it all the more reasonable to start our season in April.

Sings4Speedway
Anyone else fancy guessing the riding order, should be straight forward though due to having such a decent top four:- 1. Lawson 9.12 2. Lunna 4.5 3. Barker 7.56 4. Worrall 6.84 5. Summers 8.37 6. Garcia 3 7. Ayres 3 And could maybe swap Nikka and Richie round away from home, depending on opposition and their team order? Really excited about this year in terms of the team and the changes - hoping to get along to Ashfield at some point this year! Playing devils advocate here but is anyone concerned about the team spirit? There are a lot of riders who want to be top dog in this side. Will everyone click and then prove a very dangerous unit or will there be in fighting and some harsh on track manoeuvres?
TheScotsman
In fighting and some harsh on track manoeuvres I would imagine. And all that before the racing even starts.

Think Summers is a good team man and skipper.

I am positive that Stewart will be on top of things to ensure the team click from the off. But a wee bit of healthy competition will drive the guys on and as mentioned, Aaron (as potential captain) and Richard are great team guys too.

Paulco
Some kind person has put heat 15 away to Sheffield in 1991 and home against Cradley Heath heat 15 in 1992 , on the official Glasgow web page . I was lucky enough to be at both those meetings , both are well worth enjoying again

Pogo1
Nine weeks today and we will have seen some racing, with no Edinburgh on opening day it should make for a nice change for both sets of supporters with Edinburgh there the following week anyway, I know there was talk of a Polish team or an elite league team as opening day opposition which I think would be a welcome change.

Agree that we shouldn't open with Edinburgh, a case of familiarity breeds contempt. These matches should be built up and get fans from all sides even newtrals wanting to come along. Don't see point of Elite league team. don't think we would attract anymore fans or potential fans just cos its a elite team. all tigers fans will want to see the new team so we should start with a reasonable crowd anyway - also don't want to lose opening match!. an elite team won't come cheap and have 2-4 premier riders riding for them anyway. if we can't afford there no.1 say Holder or zagar they will then need a guest. A polish team could be good provided they were cheap might be able to market to local polish community - but still risk losing!
daveallan81
Since 1964, Edinburgh/Coatbridge have been scheduled to be opening night opponents for Tigers on no less than 19 occasions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6h4xytdcl8k1qf1/GlasgowOpeningFixtures1964-2015.pdf?dl=
mdmc82
TWO of the worlds top speedway riders are set to line-up in Glasgow after the club secured a glamour friendly to start the season. Chris Bomber Harris, the experienced Speedway Grand Prix star and three-time British Champion, will lead Elite League side Coventry Bees north to face the Tigers on Sunday, March 27. Cornishman Harris who finished fifth in the 2010 world championship and takes part again in 2016 will be joined by the four-time World Cup champion and 2014 world No 2 Krzysztof Kasprzak, of Poland. The 31-year-old has numerous international honours to his name including three Grand Prix victories. Also making the trip will be the hotly sought-after Pole Kacper Woryna, 19, who is set to make his UK debut in 2016, having been recommended to the Bees by their two top men. He was part of his countrys under-21 side that won last years European Championship. Meanwhile, 2015 Tigers favourite James Sarjeant will make a swift return to the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium with the Bees. His fellow Englishman Danny King a former Ashfield track record holder will complete a potent top five for Coventry, one that will be among the strongest ever seen at Glasgow. Both Jason Garrity and Josh Bates will miss out as they are racing for Sheffield on the same day, but the visitors plan to promote two riders from their National League side, Coventry Storm, into the reserve berths. - See more at: http://www.glasgowtigers.co/buzz-over-season-opener/#sthash.dTpvudnP.dpuf
