Having had a look at the current league table, Swindon 4th with 20 matches ridden, the same as Lakeside and both on 34 points. Assuming Poole with 13 to ride fill one of the top 4 along with Belle Vue and Wolverhampton that leaves the 4th slot between KL (9 points adrift having ridden 5 matches fewer), Lakeside and Swindon.

To ride:

Swindon - 3H (KL, Poole, Leicester), 5A (Cov, BV, Wolves, KL, Lakeside)

Lakeside - 4H (BV, Cov, KL, Swindon, 4A (Swindon, Cov, BV, KL)

KL - 5H, 8A

For Swindon - 6 points from the 3 home matches and perhaps at least a point from Coventry.

For Lakeside - 12 points from the 4 home matches plus a point from KL

Even with an away win at Coventry, not wholly convinced that Swindon's season will extend into the play offs. KL could well pip both Sqindon and Lakeside.

We need all 9 home points on offer and a 4 pointer at Coventry at least a 3 pointer at KL and a losing point at Belle Vue, cant see us getting anything at Lakeside and Wolves in fact no chance of that, that's 17 points which should see us through...easy eh?

I've been down the bookies & put a £1 on as I'm that confident😉

Looks like Torquay United FC have had a lucky escape. They were subject to a take-over bid by Gaming International, who intended building on the football ground & "developing another stadium elsewhere in the town". However the local council refused to sell them the freehold of the site. Pity Swindon Borough Council haven't been so helpful!

Lucky Torquay United. I see Osborne is trying to muscle into Poole more where the council own Poole Stadium. Now that is prime land!

No statement from Swindon for ages - ready for April 2017? Pigs might fly first.

There is another letter from the council asking basic questions which seems to confirm what a micky mouse plan re hedges and surrounding greenery on the site the developers have put in.

After tomorrow night one fixture on the 22nd against Poole then that is it for August. What has happened to the 18th home fixture against Leicester? August with the kids off two meetings in August madness,This year it seems like we have not had a season something has to change in this EL surely.

Become a joke hasnt it? You have the top riders moaning about having too many meetings to cram in if they do EL yet we as fans get a meeting once in a blue moon, ok if you can afford to go to other meetings willy nilly but for the ones that can only budget for home meetings are lucky to see 2 meetings every five or 6 weeks!

As a summer sport little credence is paid to those (the fans) who want to watch regular racing particularly during the peak holiday period. What do you get, very little. The gaps between home meetings is unsustainable from a business perspective and is it any wonder that supporters are drifting away and doing other things. What has gone wrong? Rider such as Hancock turning their back on meetings and depriving some of the most loyal supporters the opportunity to watch him race. No excuses, time to amalgamate the leagues and find riders prepared to commit to British racing and stop pandering to those riders chasing the money on the back of fewer meetings. If the polish and other leagues want to pay top dollar then good luck to them, what ideally we should see is commitment to the sport in this country and if that means a return to riders who have other jobs and do not rely totally on speedway as an income then so be it. It worked before so why no now? If you had an increased number of meetings, would the riders need to look elsewhere? The answer if you want track experience is maybe yes but Financially it is probably questionable if you do a full breakdown of costs. I would love to see the the profit and loss account and balance sheet for the so called top riders and analyse the income etc. As long as the gp riders dictate the terms nothing will change until someone stands up and says enough is enough. I may well be six foot under before the majority of the powers that be have the balls to stop the decline.

I agree this league is knackered big decisions in October/November need to be made.People i know are getting used to not going to speedway have found other ways of spending there money then think twice about going to speedway everyweek. As a home supporter three home meetings every month is about right it is not asking that much is it? in a March/October season.
