Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..

Recommended Posts

But where are the fans - home and visiting - going to park??

There has been talk of using the old Groundwell Park and ride site, but not sure if that is a possibility. If they do use it they will have to get someone to run a shuttle service to the stadium.

so the farewell meeting wasn't actually a farewell meeting!

Always thought it was odd running the meeting with no stadium to move into.

Still, no doubt they got a nice pay cheque to go towards the costs, assuming they don't try fool no one again with another one.

No it was a 'practice farewell meeting' so they could find out what they shouldn't be doing at a 'proper farewell meeting'. So next time they say 'farewell' they will get it right. Not only that, they will be able to have the 'farewell meeting proper' when it's really time to say farewell. Then they will be able to say 'a proper farewell' to all those they really want to say goodbye to properly. I will leave it to the informed to fill in the appropriate names, when it comes to saying goodbye, to all those they really want to say a 'proper farewell' to, in the 'proper manner'.

Not only that they will be able to have the 'proper farewell meeting' in the last week when they say 'goodbye properly' to the old stadium and have a 'Hello meeting', to welcome folk to the new stadium, the following week. But the 'Hello meeting' will probably be a 'practice Hello meeting', to find out what they shouldn't be doing at a 'proper Hello meeting'.

Then at the end of the season they will have the 'proper Hello meeting' so they can say 'Hello properly' to the new stadium. But, not only that, as it will be the end of the season, they will be able to say 'Hello' and 'Farewell' at the same time. They will be playing 'Hello Goodbye' by the Beatles at this meeting so as to avoid any confusion as to what the meeting is about.

This will enable them to complete the circle of meetings, to the general satisfaction of all concerned, other than those they want to say a 'proper goodbye' to at the old stadium and never see again. Talking about circles, in 'speedway circles', all of the above is known as 'good business'.

I hope all of this clears up any confusion that you may have had regarding as to what is proper and what isn't proper at Swindon Speedway.

Just glad i missed the abbey farewell meeting

Glad I was there to see the old crowd of riders from the late 60s side for probably the final time, and the super fireworks, and the splendid programme...now they have to get them all to come back again for one last hoorah, to be called The Fair Tell meeting in honour of El Tel Russell, and Batch must write a new speech...oh dear what a bloody willy up!

At least the speedway looks safe for the immediate future?

The Robins to be renamed The Budgies because of all the Aussies in the side!

"Hello Goodbye" has now been adopted as the new club song as the team enter the track, replacing the famous Jacko's "Rockin Robin". With perhaps Tom Jones "Green Green Grass Of Home".

About the 5th press statement saying the stadium has be delayed ....now we just got to wait for the next one mid way into the season telling us about the next delay ....Glad we got speedway at the abbey next season but wish we would cut the bull ...sadly the whole farewell meeting was sold on a lie/false promise . .

THE FACTS

Readng/Smallmead you all know what happened, I won't repeat it and get condemned again.

Milton Keynes Groveway Stadia UK 2006 statement "Milton Keynes Greyhound Stadium will soon be relocated to nearby Elfield Park. Initial construction works have recently been completed to facilitate the relocation. "

Bristol Eastville - Fire 529dbae936447aa1225acb5e47ea5489.jpg South Stand 1980.

Bristol Rovers soon have to leave Eastville and play at Twerton Park, Bath.

You choose to believe Stadia UK even want to build a new stadium if you will. I hope to be proved wrong but.....

I know people are being put down for being "doom mungers" but come on stop hiding your head in the sand.

There is plenty of other land to develop on the site but the builders are specifically building right next to the stadium.

Coincidence? I think not.

Things are not being done in the order promised. A real concern.

This new stadium is a real doubt, the developers don't want to build it, there's no money in it for them, houses bring in a lot of revenue.

As for Stadia Uk.. Well
