Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..

Recommended Posts

As a 2nd or 3rd heatleader Troy would actually be a really good signing. He's a bit like Bomber in that he is a good heat leader but not a man you want leading you.

On a sub 7 point average I'd seriously consider signing him. And I don't like him!

He had a good spell when Darcy rode in races with him & helped him but he's a 2nd or 3rd heat leader now.

Think a change will do him good.

As I said on another thread, the promoters clearly know what points limits and team structures have been discussed and tentatively agreed before the 'rubber stamping' at the AGM and they have to get the 'visa' riders contracted before they head off to the Oz GP, unless they come back to the UK thereafter.

My only query on that is what if there is an extra team eg Kent Kings?

To announce the full 1-7 (or most of it) before the AGM might be considered a little foolhardy, however much influence one might have?!

(ps There was a whisper the AGM has moved a week earlier than originally planned?? Not sure?!)

Wouldn't take that as read. I remember a few seasons back when this happened & sides signed riders before the AGM & a certain promoter (who shall remain nameless, got together with a few other promoters & got the points average changed) leaving those clubs in the mire!

What date is the AGM as some of the Aussies will have to sign for clubs and get their visa's sorted before they go home. Will the Aus GP riders want to return to the UK after the event and some of the other Aussies not in the GP but wanting to be at the event. It seems a bit silly for them to have to return to the UK to sign a bit of paper then get on a plane and to back to Aus again.

Looks like no Jason Doyle in farewell meeting so wonder what's happened their?

Not sure. Disappointed he won't be there given his recent performances in the GP series.

Would be an excellent addition at no.1 next season in the Robins bib but it is a tad surprising, unless he has alternative commitment, that he is not riding given PK and my favourite number 1 since The St Winifred's school choir will be in attendance. :P

Might be Jason's way of cooling the rumours of him coming back in 2016.

If the 2 riders over 7 point average still stands will Zengota who finished with a 7.79 average stand a chance of a team place with swindon also if not is he good enougth for any other team to take on as their 2nd heat leader.Am only asking because i have not seen him ride that often this year ie did he score most of his points at home or an even spread home and away.

Zengi has been superb this season, really got going from mid-season onwards and was banging points in home and away....including 16 at Wolverhampton.

I'd take him as a second heatleader at Swindon without hesitation. But....if a choice between him and Kildemand then I'd probably opt for PK as long as he's up for a full season

These are his averages home and away

My liking the post earlier about building teams to a high level is because I get fed up with the top teams having to get rid of riders each year because they are successful.

No. He rode most of the season as a secondstring and struggled when he had to move up to heatleader, averaging only 5.45 in those five meetings.
