Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..

Recommended Posts

Kildemand knew before Torun that he was in the 2016 Series and wasn't considering Britain next year anyway.

If Swindon do get a track and get ready for next season they have Morris, Zengota and Batchelor already to pick from let alone Doyle so not having Kildemand won't be a problem and Shamek Pawlicki is also looking at Britain next season and with Zengota at Leszno could be a good thing.

Just where they are going to ride a part from the Abbey or Oxford is the most worrying

If he got a top 8 place it would mean he can have the number 8 next season if he wanted but remember they get paid on finishing positions so the better he finishes the better he gets paid.

No one expected Holder to have a nightmare in Australia and Kildemand had already shown he is ready to do a full season and next year looks like being even tougher with Hampel Pawlicki Zmarzlik and Lindback added.

Friday- the worst day of the week to travel.

Speedway- dead in the water

Don't think away fans' attendance would be a major consideration if they decide go to Friday evening racing...

So few travel anyway so the thought would be that a Friday evening would increase the home crowd levels with no school, no work for many, the following day..

Lose maybe five away fans but gain between fifty to one hundred home fans would be the considered view I would suggest...

Embarrassingly pitiful numbers though isn't it in the grand scheme of things?

Yet, I would suggest, a pretty accurate description of the actual expectation of the change..😥

(And an extra 100 every week would generate around 30k a season if they all bought a programme, such are the low numbers the sport now deals with)..

Friday night is a nightmare on the roads even if your track is local. For example unless you live next door, try getting to Coventry from anywhere in say 30 mile radius

Been doing it for years. 35 miles each way for me, the ironic part of it all is that the worst traffic problems occur on the return journey when the M6 is having its maintenance work carried out . The Highways Agency don't help either with their poor info on the gantry signs.

After the play-off semi-final driving back to Newport from Coventry they decided the close the M42 but didn't tell you until you had gone past the last junction off so sent you on a 45 mile de-tour to get back to that junction which they could have just had sign posted! It shouldn't be hard these days!

That's just typical of them.

A few years back I joined the M6 north at Cov heading home. Immediately there were gantry signs stating that there were problems at J18 (Holmes Chapel I think) so on I go not worrying about that, only to find myself parked up for 1.5 hours on a section of the motorway where it was impossible to get off. I sent several emails to the HA suggesting that motorists travelling north from Coventry are likely to be much more interested in a closure between J4&J5. than anything going on near Manchester.

After several weeks any many emails I did receive a sort of apology from the H A and they provided me with a telephone no to contact them if I experienced any further problems.

Good job I lost the number because they haven't improved. :D

I leave work in Baginton at 6.20pm, home to Wyken to pick up family and still get to Brandon by 7. Friday evening traffic seems less busy to me in the City because many places do half day or shorter hours on a Friday. I get that the motorway network would be a nightmare though.
