racers and royals
Darcy isn't going to complain - he's extremely grateful to receive any financial support!! However I can tell you that there are those connected with the administration of the Foundation that are far from comfortable with the apparent 'final figures' from Torun, so presumably are not taking the club's statement at face value. 'returns for the players'?? Whats that meant to mean when the riders rode for free? I accept there will of course be some stadium costs but why would they be 'very high'?? Questions still need asking of one of the sport's supposedly richest clubs?? Sadly the same questions are being asked that were asked of the Rzeszow boss after Lee Richardson's meeting- ie where has the money gone !!!! Steve0
Joe Parson's confirmed that only 4K GBP was transferred to Darcy. Shocking!!! Well something is VERY wrong and I think it's shocking when you consider the circumstances!
hyabb17
Absolutely, it's disgraceful. a club like Torun should have been able to wave any rent fee. I don't get where all these fees have come from. Well something is VERY wrong and I think it's shocking when you consider the circumstances!
RobMcCaffery
I really would suggest that you don't compare these Polish promotions with anything you would see outside that country.
Steve Shovlar
Someone had their fingers in the till. If that happened over here the fraud squad would be investigating. £50,000 raised from Poole, £4000 from Torun. Beyond belief. Torun have many more fans. Would have expected £100,000 + at least even with cheaper entry fee. Wonder what Torun fans or Polish fans in general are saying? More than £4000 was raised in the bucket collection at Poole for gods sake! Edited July 5, 2016 by Steve Shovlar

More than £4000 was raised in the bucket collection at Poole for gods sake! Reading raised £53k for Per Jonsson way back in 1994. I think that puts it into perspective. Jimmy Nilsen joined Pat Bliss and Bob Radford to organise it all, and Per was able to attend in his wheelchair.
Steve0
So 11,000 people attended, paying an average the equivalent of 36.5 pence each entrance. As if! I really think this is disgusting - when you think what Darcy has lost and then they claim to raise a derisory £4,000 from a crowd of 11,000 - unbelievable! It really angers me that a Polish club can treat Darcy in this way! Edited July 5, 2016 by Steve0
hagonshocker
The use of the term invoices was banded about quite freely after Darcy originally enquired about the whereabouts of the money and that some riders were a bit slow in reacting to the request for them?, does that suggest the riders were paid to ride or merely for expenses etc?
A ORLOV
Latest stadium, cough, news The letter from the Fire Brigade mentions this application and when Planning Permission is granted, so what is J Tomlinson on about re work should be starting this week ? Do he actually know what is going on ? Altered site plan submitted, I get the impression this is just a change in traffic flow and parking, it does not answer the issue of number of parking spaces. http://pa1.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess/files/A9119C8EE6F8FC2BF9D96C501E0D0CF5/pdf/S_RES_16_0036-MASTERPLAN_-_ALTERED_SITE-540507.pdf There are also three new letters dated 7 jul on 2nd planning application http://pa1.swindon.gov.uk/publicaccess/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=O7RY9CPTHSC00 When planning permission is granted we may see a start over the winter, but not saying which year. BuzzCagney
Surely water provision/hydrants isn't an insurmountable problem? And its sounds as if the parking situation, which was a council objection, has been overcome? It does hurt to click on that link to be confronted by an old picture of the Abbey with loads of space around it. Its bloody hideous up there now with all those vile rabbit hutches.

The parking issue that is hopefully resolved was the traffic flow into the stadium with pedestrians using the same space. What was and seems to be outstanding was the number of parking spaces, ie 600 or 700 spaces for 3500 people is ridiculous. I understand that there is news due on parking but have not seen anything yet. Edited July 9, 2016 by A ORLOV
BuzzCagney
Ah, cheers mate. It does make me chuckle that the council don't want cars and people in the same place. Not long ago they thought it was a rip-roaring idea around the new development at Regents Circus.

That is nothing, just wait for them to turn Fleming Way into a pedestrian zone with buses using it as well.
BuzzCagney
I don't see it being a major problem mate. Nobody will ever venture to that sorry part of town ever again I reckon. In fact the whole of the town centre is a shambles. How can we trust the people who are responsible for that to pass off sensible plans for a new stadium.
