A ORLOV
is it true Swindon will be riding on a friday in 2016, along with BV, Lakeside and Coventry Nothing has been announced but there has been a comment that all EL racing could end up on a fri, which is ok apart from the weeks when there is a GP or SEC or any other international meetings that are dreamt up where practice or travel of riders is required. There is also the issue of how many PL and NL clubs race that night who provide FTR riders and double uppers to the EL.
SteveLyric2
is it true Swindon will be riding on a friday in 2016, along with BV, Lakeside and Coventry Rosco mentioned in last week's SS that Friday was a day that the EL was moving towards in a few years - with the co-operation of the FIM and BSI!!!! In the same paragraph he also mentioned that amalgamation would also come in a few years time!!

In the same paragraph he also mentioned that amalgamation would also come in a few years time!! I'm surprised more hasn't been said about Rosco's comments in the SS last week. I don't remember him mentionining amalgamation but a move to a Friday race night across the EL is, in my opinion, the single, best thing that could possibly happen to try and grow the sport again. All tracks would see a boost in away support and I'm sure many more famillies would be interested in going along.

Have you tried travelling around the country's motorways and A roads on Friday afternoons and early evenings recently??
Mike.Butler
Fridays only that will mean i will do virtually nil EL meets then..
SteveLyric2
The speedway package on a Friday will need to be really top entertainment and value for money as there are so many other weekend leisure pursuits that will be in competition. Fridays - the Weekend starts here.
JamieE
Have you tried travelling around the country's motorways and A roads on Friday afternoons and early evenings recently?? Yep. I've made the trip to Lakeside from Coventry on a Friday after work. Just have to have a plan B and even C to avoid the worst of the traffic! Roads are overcrowded every night in the week. Two friends of mine have given up driving completely in the past year after separate accidents where they were victims of idiots driving with their brains switched onto something else. I try not to venture anywhere except very necessary local travel on Fridays now.....so that's my recommended plan D !!

I rarely visit Somerset and Lakeside because the M4/M5 and M25 are simply unbearable on Fridays. I find the M40 is much less of a problem so Coventry is the only realistic option for me on a Friday. Big Al
Is all of this talk about the EL having fixed race night/s becoming a bit like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, anyway? Time will tell over this winter, but when the daffodils start to bloom next year, how many EL teams will have struggled badly to put together a team worthy of the name "Elite"? The almost inevitable re-aligment/merging of the leagues will follow after the end of the 2016 season during which the EL will become less and less distinguishable from the PL.....so it may as well just get done and over with now....and make this issue about fixed race nights largely redundant.
A ORLOV
Peter Kildemand, as expected, has been given a wild card entry for the 2016 GPs, so like this year unlikely to want to do a full season over here.
Pirates Of Poole
Another rider to sit out the EL then!

MattK
Great news for the GPs, bad news for us. I wonder if Kildemand will be on the heatleaders "list"? If so that will potentially leave us one short.
stratton
Kildemand why would he ride the EL? for me and his career England is a hindrance cannot see him riding in Britain this year.
Crazy robin
Surely the heatleader list will only consist of riders who actually want to ride in Britain?.

I try not to venture anywhere except very necessary local travel on Fridays now.....so that's my recommended plan D !! A very good point... Having traveled for many years in the past on a Friday night to pick up my two eldest, there is no way I would consider an away meeting on a Friday Peter Kildemand, as expected, has been given a wild card entry for the 2016 GPs, so like this year unlikely to want to do a full season over here. Pleased for Killer, but as a sad consequence I doubt he will be a Robin next year..
