Poole 2016

Recommended Posts

Been on other threads today and just read the last 10 pages of this one and absolute comedy gold again. The man has no idea when to stop. Ridiculed by even his own fans. Proved wrong and cowardly disappears. Fair play chris4gillian for admitting you stand corrected. I'm sure Starman won't be here for a bit

At the end of the day I'm a realist so if I'm proven incorrect then I will always gladly credit those that prove me to be so. I agree it's a shame certain other Poole 'supporters' don't do the same. Starman (and RP) for once do the honourable thing. Ta!

He said on twitter about the fans not being supportive

I'm not surprised after the things he wrote. Didn't do very much for team bonding either.

Holder and Hans may not be able to recapture their form and a year too early for Kurtz in my view, should have kept Kacper.

I think you are being rather pessimistic foreverblue. Holder and Andersen are both class riders and give the Pirates a terrific spearhead. Rest assured, Brady Kurtz will deliver. Sure, he will be inconsistent at times, and he isn't a Darcy Ward, but in my opinion, he will hold his own over the season.

Poole have a solid side throughout and at this stage, appreciating teams are not yet complete, they look like the team to beat.

Now the team is done for 2016. Team for 2017 will be

1.Magic 2. Kyle 3.Hans 4.Brady 5. Dudek 6.??? 7. ????

Jack Holder becomes an asset but simply does not ride for us. Season after when Hans leaves and Brady goes to number 3.

So according to your prediction 2017 is the year Holder moves on and rides for another club ?.

I think so, i'm just speculating. I think that Magic will return and Holder moves to King's Lynn or gives UK a miss for a season. 2016 is the year when we break in Kurtz and Kyle goes that one step further. To gives us solid base for 2017 with Hans there to give support to the riders or Davey he is a good luck charm. I think that's a pretty good side. Reading in the Echo Dak could return in some shape or form.

Anyone seen or heard anything from Starman & Red Panda or is a simple apology to hard for both of them

I have a life outside this forum you know unlike some on here who see fit to criticise anything and everything certain people say..................

I will apologise for misreading the article but nothing else as I have done nothing else wrong..............and if you don't like it its not my problem................

Interesting that Starman gave a "like " to that post so he is obviously reading the thread, unable to come on and admit he is wrong.

Or maybe he is too busy organising the Free Jerran Hart Campaign !

Well I am very pleased with the team, great strength throughout and look strong. Our challenges will come from Swindon and Belle Vue I think. Watching the Somerset highlights DVD Brady will settle well and easily hold his own and prove the doubters wrong, he started the season on fire and yes went off slightly at the end but he will be fine.

The question is if a second string gets injured can he be replaced with a heat leader of lower average?

Is Davey a second string? Was he on the heat leader list?

Is Davey a second string? Was he on the heat leader list?

"Former World Champion Holder (pictured) and Watt, who will re-assume the club captaincy having won four league titles in Pirates colours, have been selected from the heat-leader list by promoter Matt Ford, and they join Kyle Newman as returnees from 2015."

Extract taken from a news article posted today on the BSPA site. So both are on the 'fictitious' Heal Leader List.

If you are going to compare this team to the Poole teams of the past, course it's not going to look that great. In 2004 we started with Lindback at reserve!!

The product gets weaker each year so if course all the teams will be as well.

Holder, Hans, Watt are nowhere near the riders they were, Big step up for Kurtz and the pole could go either way... The reserves staying injury free is vital as the are the best pairing in the league.... And will probably be the difference in close meetings... Just my opinion :)

Looking at the line up on the Poole website, that has Chris, Davey and Hans as HL and Buzz as second string.

The only place the 7 riders are listed on the website is under the 'team' button (unless I'm missing something), which also has Ellis above Kurtz, so cannot be the riding order!!

The Echo have Buzz as the 3rd heat leader.

The other interesting news is Dak's decision to give 2016 a miss in order to stay at home to help with his dad's long term recovery!!! (Awaits Coventry fans protesting that its not a valid reason to stay away!!) :D:wink:

According to most, the reserve pairing won't remain the reserve pairing for very long!!!

And as far as 'the pole' is concerned, it was only a few days ago that everyone was up in arms at Poole signing a World Cup rider as a 2nd string!! So I would say the only way............ is up!!

I can see where you are coming from but I think Holder and Hans will be okay considering the strength of the league now. Watt should be okay but you never know!
