Poole 2016

Recommended Posts

Great move by Poole to run the inaugural 'Race for Pete' after the Pirates v Bees ES meeting on 16th March, to commemorate the late Pete Ansell.

Pete's widow Roz and his 2 sons together with former promoter Mervyn Stewkesbury will be in attendance!!

More like an opportunity for Matt to practise is walking on water trick, while you worship at this feet. :D

Will Bomber be fit to race on Wednesday as apparantly he couldn't actively participate in the Team GB practice over the weekend, due to still recovering from an op?!

Had an operation on his nose to help with breathing. He was going to ride at the training camp but actually took the doctors advice to rest it for another week.

For those that are interested I hope to do a live Periscope broadcast on Monday afternoon from the track with the riders going around practising. As I am not a season ticket holder I wont be in the rider meets and among the guest and media, but the stadium is open for us mere fans to watch the riders take a spin and this is what I shall hope to broadcast.

You will need the periscope app from the appstore or where ever non apple user find their apps. Its free.

My account to find me is @stephenshovlar, or click on the map and zoom in to Poole and click on the red dot which will probably be me when there is a live broardcast taking place. Dont expect Sky broadcast quality footage! Not sure just yet what timenthe riders will take to the track. Perhaps someone else on here will know?

A beautiful if somewhat chilly day in Poole for press and practice today. Kicks off at lunchtime with introduction of the riders and press photos, followed by the riders taking to the track for practice before Wednesdays crunch tie against the Coventry Bees.

For thos starved of their speedway fix, I shall be there from 2 pm to catch the riders taking a spin and will stream some of it live from the track via periscope app. I can be found on periscope by @stephenshovlar, or zoom in on the map to Poole and click on the red dot where the stadium is.

If you miss the live feed, the footage will be avaialble to view for 24 hours on my account so you can catch it later. If you watch live I can answer type in questions as they come in on the feed.

So Hans has gone to Poole because a winning team around you helps you out. So what was the useless gits excuse in 2015? We finished 2nd in the league and may had our number 1 turned up at just 3 or 4 meetings we'd have finished top. Or what about in 2014 when we got to the play-off final and had it not been for our number 1 going AWOL may have won the play-offs.

He is one of the biggest reasons the Bees in 2 season, while having a largely very successful team have not won the title. So much for being dragged along by a winning team.

As for Adam Ellis, he confirmed what some of us said last year, he didn't want to be at Lakeside and they had tried to get him to Poole last season but they were unable to fiddle it.
