Kent County Fours

Up to Kent to promote their own fixtures. Not for Eastbourne or anyone else to poke their nose in.

The host club will know what they want to say to bring in the fans.

My social media streams (and the website) is all about the National Trophy Final at Arlington on Sunday afternoon. I see they are plugging the 2pm start to make sure people know.

That's how Martin and Connor work it. Fair play to them but I don't think they have the time to do Kent's PR as well.

I only stated that they said Brad was fit and that the Kent county fours is Friday. It's the subject

nobody is saying otherwise. it's just there was no 'promotion 'on the kent website and not even an acknowledgement by any of the 3 visiting sides that they were there.

Well, Eastbourne have acknowledged the event. It is also in the fixture list, I have just looked.

Anyway, who are the other two sides? I have no idea.

A pretty poor show from Kent on this occasion. Perhaps there will be a press release tomorrow.

The general point is that club's need to be, to use a horrible modern phrase, "In your face" with publicity.

Stoke Kent Eastbourne and Mildenhall

Suprised not more has been written about this, when the fixtures were released this was the meeting that caught my eye. Sure it's not now on a glorious bank holiday Monday, but still a meeting to enjoy. Plus we get an extra Heat for our money :)

Used to love the four team tournaments as a kid at Canterbury. More meetings like this would surely improve gates too with 4 sets of fan pools to fill the terraces not to mention the neutrals that just love Speedway.

Shame there is no Baseby tonight (have we seen the last of him?), but i'm glad we get a look at Jack Thomas rather than use one of the other 4. Kent to win with a maximum from Captain Marvel.

How lond does it take to say your won the NL Pairs or was it a bigger announcing to your public where you went wrong and how you should have put things right and how your going to do it again next year, lol mmmm well that would seem why it took you so long and more acceptable to the public.

What time does is start as i will never get there with the dartford crossing being that busy, seems i have to give it a miss, thats the problem when you go to friday nights.

Track was overwatered and was tricky for the riders early on.Eastbourne looked likely winners most of the night especially when Kent were reduced to three riders, young Jack Thomas,s bike giving up as early as race one..Danny Ayers continued his recent much improved form and is starting to look a rider with higher grade potential, now ,,next season could be big for him..Marc Owen looked especially sharp from the gate tonight ,and will be looking to repeat this form in the two matches against the Raiders this weekend..Danno Verge had a good night scoring 7points replacing Kyle Hughes unwell,,will he ride tomorrow,,,Ben Morley gave his second bike a run out tonight, and it took a while to get dialled in ,but finishing with two fast wins, one over Bradley Wilson dean who was also beaten by Danny Ayers earlier,, James Shanes had little help from the slick track and was not as effective as usual.Decent performances from Tom Bacon and Connor Mountain for Mildenhall ,,,Stoke struggled to have an impact on the result..In truth not a great meeting,,,bit processional although the track did not help,,Eastbourne deserved winners,,crowd getting close to average I suppose,,Exciting prospects for Kent fans next year if all goes to plan...

The track was too wet for the early heats, similar to rye v eastbourne, a couple of weeks ago. The temperature does drop quickly at this time of year, even on sunny days. On the plus side, it was a very well run meeting, raced in front of a decent crowd for this type of event. Roll on 2016 and maybe EL racing at Central Park!
