Mr Blobby
why is Cook crap in FIM Meetings where monitoring is tight Exactly monitoring is tight so he can't get away with using the rocket fuel, 600cc etc Edited September 30, 2015 by Mr Blobby

idh
The result flattered Edinburgh - Cook apart they were poor. Awful decision by the ref in heat 12 - Wright was in front, Riss should have shut off but went for a gap that wasn't there. The cup is the Monarchs to lose now- Cook was literally on a different planet - the most dominant performance I have seen at the OTA. Totally agree the ref needs to go to specsavers awful decision cost the Rebels a 5-1 Brady & Sam produced a great race in ht6 a classic Cook was awesome and it was nice to see the ovation he got from the crowd after ht15 top marks to both Cook and the Rebels fans, which he did acknowledge. bill94d
Had a great night at the OTA. Cookie was, as I suspected, on a different planet. Rather have him in the GP next year in place of Harris! Would do him good. Can't see Edinburgh hanging on to him next year though without offloading half the team. Poor decision on Charles though. Could cost us the cup.

Aroundtheboards
Excellent meeting last night, well contested and a slim margin for the next leg held by Rebels. Cookie was awesome last night, almost too awesome to be a PL rider but hats off to him, he was smokin !!! Shame that the margin wasn't a teeny big larger to contribute to a more juicy second leg, we, of course have the lovely Margaret Vardy to thank for that with her ludicrous decision to exclude Charlie Wright for nothing but a hard but fair riding incident. She is quoted as saying her reasoning was "Unfair riding" - - - Maggie ! Get on with your knitting or go and iron your old man a shirt will you !!! Oh, and powder your nose while your about it.
westlakejawa
Is there any reason why,Scottish referee's' seem to court controversy at Somerset?? (possibly with the exception of one).
Brooksy
Can only endorse what has already been said. Monarchs were slightly flattered by the scoreline, due to heat 12, and a tad disappointing in all honesty, apart from Mr Cook, who was in a different league to everyone else. I have never seen anyone so dominant round the OTA, including the likes of Doyle and Zetterstrom. He received a well-deserved ovation after heat 15 from the Rebels fans on the back straight, and it was good to see him applauding them back in acknowledgment. Class all round. An 8 point lead is unlikely to be enough, especially if Wolbert is back, but you never know. Is there any reason why,Scottish referee's' seem to court controversy at Somerset?? (possibly with the exception of one). I don't believe Margaret Vardy is Scottish - she's from the Midlands I think. But it was still a poor decision. crescent girl
Is there any reason why,Scottish referee's' seem to court controversy at Somerset?? Or Jim McGregor.

You don't get anymore Jock than that IMO !!! That aside she is still a bloody nightmare of a referee as others in the Speedway World will testify along with McGregor !!! EnglishRoundabout
Some good racing last night, heat 6 being a classic duel between Kurtz and Masters. The exclusion of Wright in heat 12 is likely to have a huge say in the winners of the PL cup. From my position it was difficult to see exactly what happened (Wright certainly drove Reiss wide) although I have seen much worse from Olly Allen last season at the OTA, notably his treatment of Eddie Kennett in one particular race with no exclusion. As many have said, Cook was imperious. Without doubt the fastest five rides I have seen at Somerset. The speed he generated, especially entering the third bend was simply breathtaking. He won most of his races by the length of a straight, only Kurtz being remotely close to him. As someone posted earlier, Cookie did a celebratory lap after his maximum and received warm applause from the sporting Rebels fans. He responded by applauding the fans on the back straight. A mention for Richie Worrall who has had a difficult season at the OTA, he made three lightening starts and looked pretty quick all night, although he was a touch disappointing in heat 15. Rasmus Jensen continues to look a good signing and has done well in the difficult number two position. I am sure the Rebels will give the Monarchs a match on Friday, but 8 points is not quite enough.
