Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?

I know quite a bit. My dad is one of the old farts who continues to moan about the modern speedway and constantly knocks one out over black and white memories.

But most of us old farts except those days are over and except that progress has to happen. But we don't have to agree that thing's are better they should be but for me they are not.It is not just Speedway i loved growing up in the 70s and i would have those times all day long over how it is in this country now.One thing though what happens when all us old farts die off? who will replace them.?

Lets bring back Mauger and Fundin.

Lets bring back Black and white TV.

Lets have 13 heats.

Times move on, if you live in the past you will never move forward.

Go to any speedway meeting and you will see loads of White Knights and Sidney's, but you don't see many young faces.

The Play Offs is a modern day idea, and it funny as I wonder if they have fans complaining in Poland and Sweden about play offs.

Well it is for generation to find the answers, and i don't think me and WK are on our Zimmer frames yet.!!

1994. No GPs, no play-offs. No doubling up. The sport on it's arse and a World Final at Vojens because nowhere else wanted it!

As for the 60s, there were more paedos than you could shake a stick, people dying of illnesses that have no luckily died out themselves. and what was it? 3 TV channels? No wonder speedway was booming.

Bring back smallpox and nonces to save speedway! I'm going to e-mail SKY...

The crowd at Belle Vue last night was terrific, as viewed on TV.

However, the Play-Offs have become the main agenda for the domestic season and in a funny way have devalued the league programme that serves them.

Funny, many at Belle Vue last night weren't actually present for the conception in March, have been absent while mum carried the sprog all summer. Most important though, they were there last night... for the actual birth.

Not devalued them at all ...they have made more matches more important ....why would fans who turn up last night be there in march if we had the old rules .

because its only a meaningful fixture in sept onwards...you just jostle for positions in 6 months, a loss at home in march

isn't as vital as it used to be...

And what happens if you can't win the league by the end of April ? no matches are important . Belle Vue season would have been over a long time ago under the old rules ....You don't have to be a egghead to understand that fans in all sports will go to finals even if they have not been all year .
