I see that the British Semi Final is being held at Glasgow on Sun 15th May. I wonder if this will effect the Diamonds home meeting with Somerset that same day?

Having to change this meeting from the Friday has caused far more issues than the original plan, but here you go!!

I was sorry to read in the SS that Daryl has sold up. His heart has always been in the right place and it's a pity his Elite League dreams of many years ago didn't come off. Nicki, Bjarne and Kenneth, what a heat leader trio that would have been.

Do we have a new co-owner and if so who? I understand Ruffdiamond is loaded, and my money is on him unless Tsunami is making a shock return, of course.

Anyway, thanks Daryl, much appreciated.

Don't forget after practice on Sunday the Supporters Club are holding a meet the riders night.

The event will be held at The Lindisfarne Social Club, West St, Wallsend, NE28 8LG from 7.30pm.

There will be a bit of a quiz, a raffle and rider interviews and entry is free to all, so get your season started early and pop along for what is always a good night - see you there !

It's not the fact that I am bitter towards speedway. It's more the fact of he's been involved for years and never gained its constant expense, speedway is a money grabbing sport you'll never make money off it as not enough people are willing to pay the price to go and watch it and everything behind the scenes which goes on to keep speedway going it isn't easy and I'm just glad he's finally lifted the stress and pressure off speedway off him he never gets a minute to himself as all he does is work and the day he relaxes was a Sunday when speedways on there was no relaxing as there was all the preps for the meeting to go ahead so no I'm far from bitter but what sort of business man wants to put their businesses profits into speedway? He's done it long enough I think it's about time someone else does it.

Don't know why but on Daryl's Facebook he seems to have one daughter who is very bitter towards speedway

The statement on Newcastle's website looks vey formal headed 'Statement from Illingworth' surely that should have been a more fiendly article thanking Darryl for his time and input to the Speedway.

Have you ever thought about grammar or punctuation?

All the statements you have made are blindingly obvious to anybody entering speedway as a sponsor / backer / promoter. Your opinion is clearly at odds with what brought Darly into the sport in the first place.

But he has put his money where his mouth is and if he has decided to place his time elsewhere I for one, am happy to let him do so. I have spoken to Daryl personally and he was passionate about Newcastle, that is all I ask from a speedway promoter.

Well that was a waste of my time, I went to the track to go and see the practice and all gates to the stadium were closed!

I am unable to get in via the pit gate so why was there no alternative access I have raised this at the club in previous years & times.

Are the gates going to be open tomorrow? to save a wasted journey?

Thanks

Good practice session today with some stunning performances. It seemed like everyone was dialled in after one ride. Lots of hard riding from Robert and impressive riding from Kus, who I think is going to be our surprise package. I think Danny will sleep well tonight given the number of rides/laps he got in. Impressive session.

Good P & P today, Lambert looking quick and impressed by Philips and Kus, both really attacking the track and getting some good laps in as was Rose. Could be an interesting season.

Kenneth Hanson looked very quick for Worky.
