Newcastle 2016

Recommended Posts

Good day at the first session at the track. Great turn up from the usual crew, who were joined by new fans having read the clubs website's request. Replaced the 7 fence posts and creosoted all the backs of the kick boards. Weather held off after a severe weather warning but, to be honest, it might have been 5 degrees, feeling like 1 degree, but nobody noticed the cold. We had an early finish and I think everyone is looking forward to painting the kick boards white and fitting them which will start next Sunday at 9.00am. If you want to join us, just pop along for as long as you can spare. Thanks to everyone.

Race Night tomorrow at the PTE Club, Byker, and it looks like it's going to have a good crowd. 2016 riders in attendance as well as some ex riders who have said they are putting in an appearance. See you there, free admission with a raffle of course.

Confirmed on Monday by George that the Kus transfer is going to arbitration, so we will know more after 1st March.

Well I do hope & I say this publicly for both promotions to see that we don't EVER do Redcar current promotion any more favours!

WHY???? Redcar want to use him he is their assett so why should Newcastle hold a grudge. If it he was a Newcastle assett I am sure they would take the same stance if the had a team place and wanted to use him.

You can only see the argument from one side you need to think of the bigger picture. Why should a club be forced to sell a rider when they have ateam place for him.

Sly Fox, I think you will find that Redcar are looking elsewhere for a No.1. The dispute over Kus is down to the valuation. It appears that they are once again asking over the odds for a rider and will not allow him to ride elsewhere on loan, although they have a number of loanees in their side. They have previous form over this attitude, you only have to look at the saga last season with Summers.

You say they are "once again asking over the odds" well in my view there are three potential scenarios

1 - Redcar are asking a price over his value and Newcastle are offering a fair price

2 - Redcar are asking a fair price and Newcastle are offering a price under his value

3 - Redcar are asking a price over his value and Newcastle are offering a price under his value

And his "value" can't actually be stated anyway as it is down to personal judgement

Personally I would bet on scenario 3, as human nature will always go towards this scenario when bartering over a possession being sold, as to how far over/under each side is, that is for the arbitration panel to decide..

As to this constant winge of insisting on selling when Redcar loan riders themselves - the rider requested a transfer, not a loan, a transfer, and this is what is going to happen - the arbitration system is there to protect riders and clubs to ensure neither can be forced into a situation against their will. If Redcar insist on a transfer fee, it's their right and they may need that money to fund riders to replace the outgoing riders. As to them loaning riders in, that is down to the clubs owning those riders if Bjerre, Bellago, Skidmore etc were only being allowed to leave their clubs on full transfers then Redcar, or any other club, would have to agree a fee, OR go to arbitration.

Finally regarding Summers, yes it was the same situation with the rider requesting a transfer, however that did not end up at arbitration, so logically this resulted in a fee which was acceptable to both parties being agreed!

Are you completely over-looking the fact that Matej Kus has handed in a Transfer Request and doesn't want to ride for the club, deliberately?

Sly Fox,

IMO its gone on for far to long a similar thing happened last year when Berwick tried to use him, and then were unable to do so?

Here we are where we are and now I would not have gone for any Redcar riders as IMO both clubs have rivalry to say the least but we did & if any rider doesn't want to ride for you LET HIM GO!!

Think you will find that Brian Havelock has quite openly stated that he wants to name Kus in his team unlike Summers last year who was not in the 1 to 7. If the rider has put in a transfere request then if Redcar are to let him go that means a sale not a loan, If he does not want to ride for the club why let him go on a loan. Looks to me like Newcastle are tempting him with a slightly better deal, However he is a Redcar assett and they want him in their 1 to 7. In what other sport would a team be made to release an assett if they want to use him. No Bossman rules in speedway,.

Dont know why Newcastle want him anyway have not seen him have a good meeting there over the years and he has said in the press on Teesside in the past that he does not like riding there.

Now that this is going to arbitration, hopefully a sensible price will be found for Newcastle to pay Redcar, Matej will be able to be a Diamond this season and Redcar will complete their team.

A happy ending.

iT will never be a happy ending when Redcar are concerned...

We will be down at Brough tomorrow morning to continue with the track work for the new season. If you can spare some time, why not pop over and help us either paint some kickboards, or fix them to the corner fence. We start at 9.00 and work till about 2.00, weather permitting. Come along in warm old clothing, and we have food and warm drinks available for the whole period.

See ya there.
