george.m
Debatable as to wether Edinburgh took their foot off the gas or not, my theory would more likely be that the Glasgow riders were put under to much pressure by the management because they wanted it so badly, talks of extra incentives to win and so on, once heat 8 was done and the tie was over the Glasgow riders rode far better with the pressure off, when Sam was interviewed on Friday he said the team were just treating it like any other meeting, maybe that's something Glasgow will learn from. Pressure is investing £1.8 million. Pressure comes with being a top team. Edinburgh have plenty of experience of such meetings and handled it well. For many of our team it's an irregular experience. They'll have gained valuable experience this weekend. Our time will come.
DavyH
After Friday I had no doubt that we would would win the Cup comfortably, though the news that Kevin was missing made me think we'd lose today by about ten. Was hoping for a 1-5 to get us going and reach an overall margin quickly, but to have it sewn up after heat 8 was incredible. We blew Tigers away from the start and although they deserve credit for coming back from 12 down to a draw, I think it's fair to say we still had plenty in reserve if required. For Monarchs, Erik and Rob exceeded expectations but they were all superb early on. For Tigers, Aaron and Morris were the stars. Not many incidents - heat 13 though, when it was called back, I expected Lawson to be excluded as his helmet hit the tapes, but this isn't an offence now. So why did the ref not let the race continue as Monarchs were away on a 5-1. Heat 15 was a close call, Cookie drifted out coming off the inside of bend 4 as Morris straightened up from the outside - close call, but someone had to go. Plenty of good natured banter - when the kids "chase Roary the Tiger race" had a false start from about 20 bairns, the chorus of "are you Sarjeant in disguise" was apt. Nice to see the Monarchs team, Sam especially, making sure that Cody was included in the celebrations and making sure he was snapped with the cup. He looked slightly bemused, but he earned his plaudits and I sure all the Monarchs riders and fans appreciated his effort and points over the weekend. This was my first visit to Ashfield for years - what a difference, very impressive all round.
tyretrax
Again well done to Edinburgh. Seem to have a team spirit which is lacking at Glasgow. No one seems to know how the track should be prepared to suit the home team, although in my opinion it should be prepared for good racing. DavyH
Because there's a 4th rider in the race! Sorry , I forgot that by heat 13 the Tigers had started racing! What I really meant was don't pull a race back if the offending riders does not gain an advantage.

Tsunami
Concur with most off the above Edinburgh still the team to beat enjoyable day regardless but to suggest that the Monarchs took there foot off the gas is doing his team a dis-service thought we eventually came to the party but too little to late but encouraging signs for us for the future. Aaron surely must be the first name for next year's team has been solid all season Well done to the Monarchs and there healthy following . I think Aaron has got better, and more reliable/consistant, as the season has gone on. His riding at Brough a few weeks ago, was the best I have ever seen him ride, and we tend to see him more that most with him being a North East based rider.
tyretrax
To be honest I thought that Glasgow had paid too much for Aaron. After a good start he had a bad run and I thought that is the rider that I reckoned we had signed. I am happy to say Aaron has proved me wrong.
Weeyin
Aaron's been fantastic for us, I hope he is the first name on the team sheet for next year Edited September 27, 2015 by dorothy58

DavyH
I mentioned above how impressed I was by Ashfield, just to expand on that, the whole place is a revelation. From turning at the traffic lights to see a huge Tigers poster just before parking at the bingo hall, the car park, the entrance hall which could be mistaken for a hotel foyer with the club shop and cafe, rejuvenated terracing, snack bars, hospitality suites, the back straight transformed with the pits up top and a good standing area, good presentation, live singers, Roary the Tigers, start girls and even sunshine. Just need a decent team now Well I had to get some kind of dig in!!
Paulco
Obviously after our woeful performance on Friday , yesterday was all about restoring some pride , but the afternoon turned out to be much more than that . Yesterday was a celebration on how far we've come as a club this season . It was a wonderful hot day , plush new stadium looked superb , a huge crowd , especially the Smugageddon going on at a packed fourth bend enclosure . The presentation was the best I've seen at a speedway track all season , Fixerman up from Workington commented to me that obviously there had been gaps in the action with track grading etc , but you never noticed them because there was always something going on . We've learned a lot about meeting presentation from the slick operation at Braehead Clan ice hockey , and the mascot going round in the car while catching balls being thrown from the crowd proved a great success with the kids . That's been the most pleasing thing this season , the amount of youngsters that come to the speedway now , the future of the sport here looks bright . The meeting itself went as expected , youre not going to beat that Edinburgh team by more than 21 points , but we did well to come back and get a draw after being 12 points down . Losing in a cup final is much better than being bottom of the league , so that and play off qualification is an excellent first season's work for the new regime . Glasgow is a work in progress and we are all delighted to be a part of what we have .

Glasgow have shown this season that the sport can thrive, if marketed and promoted properly. And it doesn't need to cost a fortune, before you get the 'but Glasgow have money to burn' argument. Give fans entertainment and they will return.
Falcon Hammer
Echo everything DavyH, Paulco & topsoil have written Not particularly intersted in any extra entertainment, but with so much going on, and great presentation it was fantastic. Entertainment as soon as one enters the stadium & no long delays, waiting for something to happen All other promoters should be forced to attend & learn how to present a meeting
