Cue Ball
If we can stay injury free, we should be in the play offs at least, a strong looking team

mdmc82
Think this looks one of the strongest PL line ups if Stead can find form. Looking good 👍🏻

Whilst I welcome Howarth, I'm a bit disappointed not to be including Ty in the team after the way he was treated. I hope he gets fixed up. Steve55
This team has four riders that can perform both home and away so injuries permitting should be in with a shout at the end of the season!

Halifaxtiger
How long's the tail? Not impressed. I'm not as impressed as some either. Stead's coming back from dreadful injury, so he'll do well to hold a 10.5 average. Bates spent most of last season at reserve, Howarth has been on the same average (or so) for 3 seasons and Greaves is one of the weaker 3.00 pointers based upon NL scores. Question mark over Berge improving. Hall should go up and Garrity might well do so, but 2 out of 7 isn't enough.

sparkafag
Howarth was carrying a 7.5 + average last season while racing at 1 for Workington, it is likely he will avoid that spot this season due to the averages of Stead and come the end of the season possibly Garrity, throw in the loss of Cook, Morris, Sedgeman and Kurtz I would say Howarth is as safe a bet as you are likely to get in the average improvers group. Hall will improve his average even if he is dross just by being less dross than the really dross riders in the league, Bates will probably do the same, how many “reserve” races is he going to be in this season, probably more than last year! That and a 5.5 average even from reserve is pretty good going, it suggests Bates has something about him, it might be a lack of brains and the ability to point the bike and go fast, but that’s not the worst thing in the world I don’t think the side is as strong as Glasgow, but that’s about the only side that looks stronger. Pinny
Looks a very weak team im afraid , even if Stead maintains his average which i personally think is about as likely as stevebrum pulling a bird.
Fromafar
Best team so far.cant agree Glasgow look stronger,if Workington make a decent signing I like the look of them.
spin king
I'm not as impressed as some either. Stead's coming back from dreadful injury, so he'll do well to hold a 10.5 average. Question mark over Berge improving. Hall should go up and Garrity might well do so, but 2 out of 7 isn't enough. Bring your own sweets next season. Very happy with the team selected, bearing in mind we have Simon Stead on a massive average, but I think that the Promotion have done well with the selecting the team. Steady is no that massive average,my guess is if he was not fit or thought he could not get back to around the type of form he was in before the injury, but you cannot expect him to maintain his starting average. Jason Garrity is a rider on his way up and is after Steady's number 1 role. Kyle Howarth is a rider who has never quite reach his full potential in the Premier League, but has only ever ridden for one club and you see it time and time again a change of club can kick-start their career and I think this could be the move for Kyle and the same thing hapened with Garrity last season. Josh Bates was a fast improving rider last season the Josh Bates that start the season was a pale shadow of a rider the rider that finished the season, a few people are going to be surprised next season. Dimetri Berge strikes me as a rider who needs coaxing and given advice and with Steady around he will find a rider who will be on hand to give as much advice and help that he can get. There is some unfulfilled talent in him, i remember last season him winning heat 1 of the Glasgow v Sheffield match breaking the track record in the bargain so suggests there is something about him. Richard Hall has something to prove and needs to show it, my guess the Promotion will have told him that there is minimum of 6 points at home and 5 away from home, if not then I think he could be shown the door. But he is in a similar position to what Andre Compton was a few seasons ago, its up to him to show the desire and application. Not going to prediction on the number 7 role as I think it is a pure lottery who is going to get the points and who is not, but young Nathan with his limit experience had a few rides last season in premier League last season for Workington and his scores got better as the more he rode, added to the fact that he will have seen some of the tracks already whereas quite a few of the other won't have I think he will be okay. And as with the other younger riders he has Steady there ready to offer the advice if they are prepared to listen. Okay on paper the team is not as good as the Glasgow one, but I think it has the potential to make be in the mix for a Play Off place.
Tigerite
It was always going to be a long tail for the Tigers having 2 big hitters in Stead and Garrity which most Tigers fans wanted back this season so I think the promotion have done an excellent job in putting a strong looking team out and right up to the points limit. I don't think Steady would have come back if he didn't think he could get back to the standard he rode at before his injury, I personally would have brought him back even if he was on a 12 point average, as his leadership qualities are worth extra points to the team. He worked wonders with his guidance to Josh Bates in the second half of last season. Jason is only going to get better, still not mastered Owlerton so a full season will do him a world of good. Perhaps Kyle needed a move away from Workington and the move to Sheffield will hopefully do him good, I saw him have a scintillating meeting at Somerset last year and hope he brings that type of form to Sheffield, if he does, we have signed a cracking rider. If Josh Bates improves like he did towards the end of last season, his average will undoubtedly go up, He says he wants to up his average by 2 points, I can easily see that happening. Not seen too much of Dimitri Berge, but he did take the track record at Glasgow when we were up there earlier last season and being a former world 250cc longtrack champion you'd like to think he would be good at Owlerton. Richard Hall for me is a steal on a 4 point average especially at reserve at Owlerton, has plenty of doubters to prove wrong so that should be plenty of motivation for him. Despite being a local lad I've not seen too much of Nathan, hopefully Steady can work his magic as he did with Josh and he'll do a good job. If he beats his fellow No.7s on a regular basis he will have done his job. Plenty of if's as with all teams at this stage but overall it has the makings of a very entertaining team which should keep home fans happy. Crowds were very much up at Sheffield in 2015 despite the injury problems and hopefully that trend will continue this season.
