Mimmo
Glad someone did this....thank you. If you have a look at the BSPA website under the 'Junior Section', I've had them put on there, and you'll find it all more presentable. Things seem to go ** up when I try and put them on Facebook or the BSF.

Mimmo
Congratulations to Ryan MacDonald on winning the NJL Championship at Glasgow today. Do you have all the points scorers from this meeting please? Congratulations to Ryan MacDonald on winning the NJL Championship at Glasgow today. It seems a bit bizarre him riding in the meeting, when he only competed in two league matches all season. But ride he did, so congratulations on retaining the trophy.
Veterancub
Bizarre? No more ' bizarre ' than a rider with a three point average appearing in the MDL riders final when many others were ignored. Ryan was given the opportunity to defend his title, after consultation with all the team managers as he had ridden in the league and had two further team appearances washed out.
mac101
REPORT FOR THE MEETING Yesterday saw the 2015 NJL Riders Championship take place at The Peugeot Ashfield Stadium Glasgow. From the original line up we lost Luke Ruddick who discovered bike problems during the warm up with reserve Northsides Kev Whelan stepping in. Heat 1 had the first mishap of the day with Josh Embleton flipping his bike doing a practice start on the back straight. He then failed to beat the 2 minutes. Ht 2 saw Ben Basford fall while leading but remounted to secure a point as George Rothery threw a chain. The next incident was heat 4 with Rothery taking a tumble and Kev Whelan laying down to try and avoid the fallen rider. Both riders were ruled out from the rest of the meeting George with broken fingers and Kev with damaged machinery. In between the mishaps there were a few good races in particular a tussle between Smith and McKenna in Heat 1 and a tremendous pass by MacDonald on Douglas in Heat 6. The scores after the qualifying heats were Josh Embleton 3 Blair Smith 5 Ryan MacDonald 9 Luke Mckenna 3 Kev Whelan 3 Ben Basford 7 George Rothery 0 Kieran Douglas 5 The final was initially led by Ben Basford with MacDonald doing the chasing when Basford suddenly slowed going in to the first bend in lap 2. The chasing MacDonald took avoiding action that caused him to slide off with the race being stopped. It was then discovered that Ben had slowed when he saw the red brake lights of a van leaving the stadium. The referee ordered a rerun with all 4 riders. MacDonald gated next time round and stayed in front till the chequered flag. Final result 1st Ryan MacDonald 2nd Ben Basford 3rd Kieran Douglas 4th Blair Smith Once again thank you to Glasgow speedway for allowing this to go ahead and to track photographer Ian Adam for the photograph. lucifer sam
Congratulations Ryan on retaining the title. Here's hoping for a NL track somewhere around or near Scotland, to give both yourself and other riders up that way a better chance to develop. All the best Rob
Sings4Speedway
Bizarre? No more ' bizarre ' than a rider with a three point average appearing in the MDL riders final when many others were ignored. Ryan was given the opportunity to defend his title, after consultation with all the team managers as he had ridden in the league and had two further team appearances washed out. Nearly all the riders in the MDL riders final were on a 3 point NL average with a couple achieving slightly higher than that? I believe all the competitors had to complete a certain number of meetings to be eligible and each team nominated 1/2 riders (if your favoured rider didn't get in he should ask the teams he had ridden for why he wasn't put forward). As for Ryan Mac. Congratulations. Took his opportunity when given a second crack at the final and made it count.
Veterancub
I was pointing out that there were 3 point riders in the MDL Riders final who's average was 3 points in the MDL....nothing to do with National League averages. I know exactly why each rider was in the final as the teams selected their own representative, the averages were not a consideration, as just about every rider involved had appeared for numerous teams within the MDL. As we all know, Speedway is ' Bizarre' ....but we love it!
