If the Bees riders read this forum, they won't feel like turning out at all. I can't wait for the new season to start and the speculation to stop. Let's hope the boys will surprise everyone (in a positive way).

Our reserves may do ok, but as it stands I see five teams with a stronger reserve pair than ours.

Agreed.

If they do read the forum let's hope they are determined to prove the negative comments were off the mark!

Shame we've got to face Poole first. Can't we just give them the Shield and start a week later as they are bound to win anyway? It doesn't seem like a very good idea to have Bomber's testimonial just two days later either as not everyone can afford two meetings in two days, especially us poor old pensioners now we've got to pay full price. :P

You'll have to dress up as a teenager and get in for nothing.:rofl:

Big year for King, will need to step up from last year.

If the new pole doesn't score and is miles off the pace in the first few matches, do we stick by him or will Mick look at making a change..

Think he will get the two Elite Shield matches and maybe Bombers testimonial. Wont get much tougher than Poole so if he does score points then he'll stay, if he scores 0-2 I think a change would have to be made.

It's easy to say a change could be made if he struggles but you also need to have riders available. As other teams are finding when team building, there's not a long list of them out there wanting to ride in the UK. We also can't have anymore D/U riders which limits it more.

I think there will be riders more inclined to ride in Britain once the season starts if they have no Swedish or Polish club. The King signing left us with limited options with him being a heatleader and a d/u rider. Of course if Woryna is scoring only 2 points you wouldn't have to look hard to find an improvement and we did similar last year when signing Kylmakorpi.

I didn't think you could replace a rider with an assessed average until after he's got a real average - which next year is gonna be after 4 EL meetings. I think all Bees fans are going to be very pleasantly surprised with Woryna's scores in the league. But I don't expect him to score that well in the Shield meetings!! :nono::wink::D

That rule no longer applies, we changed Jamrog after i think 1 EL meeting last season. I personally dont think he will score poorly but with over 7 points to play with it was a poor signing and he wont get close to that. Difference with Woryna and Jamrog is Woryna has much more time to prepare where Jamrog had just a couple of weeks. Still a big ask for a young lad who has never rode in the EL before. Edited by woz01

Not sure if it applies or not because Jamrog was replaced before any EL meetings wasn't he?

Edited - he was replaced before your first EL meeting.

Your correct. I was convinced he rode v Wolves at Brandon but I was wrong. Still the point still stands that if he scores poorly he can still be replaced before the EL fixtures. I'm sure other assessed riders have been replaced before getting an official average though.

Agree, don't see an issue with replacing a rider before the EL starts.

Not sure if there was another replaced before but it wouldn't surprise me if there was.

Surely he should be given a bit of time to prove himself? Half a chance seems a bit unfair.

Back in the days with Colin Pratt if they were rubbish then they would see out most of the season but Horton seems to chop and change quite quickly if things aren't working out

Unless Horton has said to him before he signed you've got this long and you need to at least score this etc...Then fair enough! He needs a few meetings to get used to the track or Harris to set up his bike for him!
