Coventry 2016

As you have seen with Horton before he will always take the cheap option first if it works fine if not he will go with who ever is available

How much are Coventry paying then compared to the cost of any available alternatives?

Well if Woryna isn't cheap the management are even more foolish. As he's certainly not as good as other options.

I see in the Star Gjedde is looking to make a comeback, would he have been a better option?

I'd put him at 2 to partner KK. Puts more onus on Jason but he's proved he can do it already.

Garrity will be fine, id say he'd stick a point on his average. Key for me is King, he needs to show more as a 3rd heatleader, he is capable.

If it wasn't a play off system to determine the champions I dont think Woryna would be signed. Clubs can take a risk early on.

Well let's see who Poole sign after holder with the 7.5 ish they have to play with, I bet it won't be a untried pole.

But they have in the past started with a line up with changes in mind. You could claim they have signed untried Poles in the past, Szczpeniak being one and even Gomólski was awful over here before 2015. Gomólski had a breakthrough year last year which helped them massively, although they did just have them to fit the limit. Im not saying its a good signing far from it but really don't see it as an issue, if Woryna score 0 in the two Shield matches he will be replaced. Same with any rider showing low scores.

You think he will be replaced after two 0 in the 2 matches with Poole I don't think so because it would prove the fans know more about speedway than Horton

According to Chris Harris in the Star this week, Bomber recommended him and advised Mick to get in quick because Poole were also considering him!!!

(Don't shoot the messenger - I'm only repeating what it says in the SS!!)

Another cunning plan works out for Ford

He is pretty decent - I don't know why the Bees fans on here have such a downer on him??!

But I guess its just because they are Bees fans!!

ps. The very best of health to Havvy with his op this week. Lets hope it has some long term success.

The last few Poles we've had haven't exactly done well so understand fans being pessimistic. Also having 7 points to play with didnt help, if we had 5.5-6 I think fans would probably give the lad the benefit of the doubt. Low expectations may help the lad, dont think he'll be a Jamrog but a big ask for him all the same.

The team looks desperate now after this signing we have FOUR Reserves....!!!! Why on earth would anyone be optimistic...?????

Where did i says fans should be optimistic, im not to be honest. Garrity is far to good to be a reserve so probably 3 but I will wait till I see Woryna live in the EL before passing comment. Team doesn't look great ive already said that but I don't think many sides will to be honest. Edited by woz01

the blueprint to winning the league is getting riders in on fake low averages in the expectation thst they will put a point or two on there average.wornya isnt going to put anything on his average .poole tend to get these assessed averages for new riders always in there favour . remember millik made it to the gp challenge following season poole signed him on an assessed 4 average millik ended with about 6.5. thats how leagues are won.

Yes but that requires a small amount of intelligence to work it out, which sadly our promotion lack. Apart from maybe the reserves I don't see who else will up their average.

If Summers can average over 6 as a 2nd string then Garrity can too I'm sure. Depends on King and Woryna (or replacement) for me. King needs to do better in a heatleader role. Wouldn't be surprised if Harris added a little more onto his as well with a few riders giving Britain a miss this year.

I have no doubt, using the race format from last year, Garrity will have little trouble scoring decent points. He will still have races against the reserves...

Who knows, he could be a heatleader come May
