Coventry 2016

OAPs already recieve benefits in the form of a pension, why do they get extra discounts?

I'm on JSA and I have to pay full price.

Clearly there is no answer to this perceptive contribution.

You should pay for all your aliases!

Not all pensions are state pensions and most pensioners will have contributed to theirs so not the same as JSA!

In theory Batch is a great signing for 2016. But he's Troy Batchelor and nobody wants that in their team!

Do you ?

Wolverhampton keeps cropping up, so let's do a comparison.

Adults are £1 more expensive at Wolves

Concessions will be £4 cheaper at Wolves

13-18 years pay £7 at Wolves, so either £2 or £7 more expensive at Wolves

6-12 years are £1 more expensive at Wolves

It seems to me that it is pretty much impossible not to watch speedway more cheaply at Coventry in 2016 than in 2015 unless you are a solo Senior, and we simply could not offer the extensive benefits to the majority of our fans without impacting on this group to the tune of £3 per meeting.

(Apologies to Wolves for using you as an example)

To put this into perspective, I see that a large Cappuccino at Starbucks costs £2.95....

When visiting Starbucks ( or Costa for that matter) the one thing that always strikes me is how many young Mums(the under 35's SCB SPEAKS OF) and their children are eating and drinking in their establishments - it always amazes me they can afford to do so. The one group of people I would say I see the least are OAP's - now if you walk down the street to Greggs you will find a lot of them and with a bacon roll + regular hot drink OR cake + hot drink at £2 it's hardly surprising especially if they only have State Pension to live on.

Batch often goes well round Brandon, he's had some very good scores there including a 15pt max.

That said I don't think he'd be keen to come to Coventry, and we don't really want a rider who's only with us due to a lack of opportunities elsewhere.

I think, I may just love you

As a semi retired pensioner I fully accept the price increase and understand the reasoning. I also have every sympathy with the younger fans, particularly those who are working on low wages or having to budget carefully because they are in some form of education and not working full time. They younger generation are not so well catered for as far as sport is concerned. The average age of a football fan is over 40 and that must surely be attributable - in part at least - the high cost of tickets. So well done speedway for considering this demographic and it's a forward looking move to welcome new, young supporters.

However, it's not a good idea to disillusion a significant part of the fan base. They are the loyal ones who have been going for years. If they feel unappreciated then they won't come. I personally think it would have been better for under 16s for two quid and an increase for the OAPs but not full adult price. Whether the OAPs can afford it isn't really the point. It's will they keep coming.

I'd like to see Larsen in Bees colours. Whoever comes in should be a gater. We need a balanced top three

A pension is a form of benefit, they are benefit scroungers.....end of

You've been watching to much TV. When, sorry if you get to 65 i take it you have a occupational pension that you can fall back on ? , and im very sure you'l be holding your hand out for the State pension as well. But by going on your age, when you get to 65 there won't be a state pension for you to hold your hand out to. so how you going to make ends meet ?

If it's Batchelor, you are dead to me!

If its Batchelor, don't bother announcing it!

I don't believe the promotion would do that to us..... would they? Hopefully it will be either Larsen or Zengota.

it will when a few more follow suit have you been on facebook

Yes, I have and I've got mixed feelings about the £3 increase but it's not bothering me enough to stop me from going. It's easy enough to just save a few pounds each week during the Winter months when there is no Speedway at all and then use it when the season starts. I'm not keen on the cost of my Virgin Media package going up by £4 in February either but these things happen.

With just under 15 points left for the last two places and two heat leaders already signed, they need to be looking at Kasprzak 7.97, Watt 7.17, Zengota 7.79 or Batchelor 6.91 and dare I say t but I think a season at Brandon would be good for all concerned for Jacob Thorssell 6.18 as a second string.

No they damn well don't! Please ignore this post Neil and Mick because he's just another one who wouldn't be there having to suffer. :o

a pension is well deserved imo

as for benefit scroungers, well keep reading your right wing gutter press, cuz they wana pin the blame of the debt on people on benefits instead of the real villains which were the bankers aided by mp's ...... and those mp's are the biggest hypocrits out , they scrounge tens of thousands in expenses on top of a whopping 11% payrise, some even have the gall to falsely employ there spouses as there 'private secretary' on up to 40 grand a yr all tax payer funded........

You have to wonder at the standard or prospective employers when a person of clearly superior intelect is not snapped up and left to claim JSA.

Always like to have my two pennies worth.

I understand the reasoning of lowering the cost of the younger person, hoping to attract more to the sport, but not at the expense of those who already support the sport. From my visit to various tracks the crowd always have a big percentage of older patrons. But persecuting them is wrong. Some will continue to follow the sport, while others will say sod this. Its quite obvious from the new pricing structure the older generation is not favoured. Weighing the extra income against the absenteeism of others will be a close call, all it will do is drive people away............. That's the last thing any club wants. The terraces are empty enough already,,,

At a time when stupid decisions are creating havoc with the sport, to me, this is another one to add to the list.........This decision will benefit no one.....

Persecution? Don't be ridiculous.

We have had a single-tier admission policy for the Coventry Storm since its inception without any criticism at all, our admissions policy for 2016 simply extends this to the senior team.
