Coventry 2016

Personally I quite enjoy the racing when I have attended, saying that the Bees managed to win there ok so I don't think they will be bothered about the track, just need to sign some gaters.

Bomber's not the best gater ( yes I know its an understatement) but he has made some great passes including a mugging of JD so not just the slow guys. Problem is such occurrences keep DH happy in his beliefs. And yes I agree with you sometimes the racing is very good at Leicester, if only DH would reduce the length of the straights by 20m then with banking and the depth of the bends available the riders would have more lines to play with and not have to spend time scrubbing off speed..Drat!, I've been drawn into talking about the Leicester track...sorry.

The only way I would have Coventry at Leicester is we get Friday Speedway in return...........if not they can jog on!

Well it's not up to you , even as leicesters biggest embarrasment , I very much doubt you will be consulted about anything , so it's you who can jog on

Only from Bomber himself at the Wolves Olympique meeting when he said 'he was open to offers'!!

What else was he going to say when he hadn't been announced anywhere yet.

Only a couple of days earlier, he said live on tapes up that he wanted to be with Coventry again and was also looking forward to his testimonial.

I guess we should know soon though

Maybe it was his way of telling Coventry that he's not waiting forever! Keep forgetting it is his testimonial next year, so would be bizarre if he wasn't at Coventry.

I wasn't passing judgement. Someone asked where the rumour that he might be leaving Coventry started?!

With the latest news update about Brandon, you couldn't blame any rider considering elsewhere in order to put a marker down for the following season!!

Ground Share at Leicester

Doubts over the future of speedway at the Brandon Stadium, the home of the Coventry Bees, was heightened yesterday with the news that planning consultants had outlined proposals to build 250 houses on the site. Coventry’s Promoter Mick Horton’s reaction to the news was that he estimated the club had probably eighteen months to find a new home and stated that a ground share with Leicester Speedway may be an interim solution due to its close proximity.

“It is in the interest of British Speedway and especially the Elite League that the identity of the Coventry Bees is maintained in British Speedway and to this end Leicester Speedway would be only too happy to enter into negotiations that would assist in providing a home for the Coventry Bees as required to ensure that the club retained continuity in both the short and medium term and to ensure the name is not lost” said the Lions Promoter David Hemsley.
