nbaynes
What ever happened to the fans the other night. From what I saw you could have easily counted them if they dared to keep the cameras on them. It was not a good advert, when they are being threatened with losing the stadium, or is a fact that the Bee's fans have just given up already. That is twice now I have seen crowds like that at Brandon. Not a good advert for speedway, unless new fans like to go and watch the racing with plenty of room to move about in. Thought they where trying to get Sky to do a feature on the track closing, or have the new owners given it a bit longer to run. The club can't be making much though with the gates they are getting. If it is like that every week. Maybe it was just one bad night. Sadly its quite clear to the fans that go regularly that Brandon is in some form of slow wind down. Whether the current promotion are complicit I do not know, but each time you go there is a little less on offer. No score board, no second car park exit, no proper sound system or music between heats. Its like a slow motion death. The fans sense this, especially the clear signals that nothing will be done to improve the team. Its all a bit sad and draws similarities with the Sky Blues. The stadium is sold to an offshore holding company that hides the owners etc etc. Enough said rally.
mdmc82
When we have racing on a normal race night, the crowds have been really good. It was the lowest crowd we have had on Monday which may be down to us having a bigger meeting on Friday, however for £10 on Monday I'm surprised there weren't more there. This terrible team won't encourage fans to keep coming though
Bee 26
If Horton won't improve the team then the fans will vote with their feet and stay away. Another tonking coming up on Friday and there will be less there than Monday come the next meeting
Midland Red
not really a short season thou 28 match league add challenges testimonials etc, then play off if get there ur lookin at about 36 matches But it's not regular week-in week-out meetings like it used to be Saturday nights, every week excluding the stock-cars on the 1st Saturday, plus Wednesdays for off-nights At home, something like 17 or 18 league, three or four Midland League (or Midland Cup), a WCQR, a MRCQR plus the final, British Final, a couple of challenge matches perhaps, Brandonapolis With interesting 2nd halves, inc. Rider of the Night (riders swooping bikes, sometimes!) with all the riders competing and not rushing off after the match Everyone happy to turn out for all meetings, regardless of team strength or opposition, knowing who'd be there in the home team (no journeymen), riders fully committed to the team ethic And there was never any situation where team strengthening was a topic - it didn't happen, it didn't need to - unless there was a long term injury, teams never seemed to change - so the riders knew what their season-long programme was Oh the good old days!
Gemini
not really a short season thou 28 match league add challenges testimonials etc, then play off if get there ur lookin at about 36 matches Every home team has a short season though surely with only 14 EL matches, although there might be an extra one or two if reaching the play-offs. No-one is interested in challenge matches anymore so they are very rarely held and there's only usually one testimonial, if that. Bomber's turn this year and very enjoyable it was too. Midland Red
No-one is interested in challenge matches anymore so they are very rarely held That's one example of how things have changed over the years. In TGOD there was no difference between a league match and a challenge - two full seven man teams riding 100% for their teams, fully supported by both sets of fans. It meant not a jot whether there were league points, or a cup place, at stake, it was a speedway team event to be enjoyed to the full.
Gemini
The only trouble Gem is that supporting Leicester then Coventry you never get to see a playoff Yes, I'm certainly a glutton for punishment. Mind you it will be a bit of added interest to see which one picks up the Wooden Spoon.

Looked at the video of the meeting, where you the person sat down with the chequered flag?.
waiheke1
If your going to get shot do it now before his average stops you from losing him..That makes no sense at all. Bees fans are hoping he is replaced with a higher averaged rider not a lower averaged one.Though agree, I'm sure they would like him replaced now, but his average dropping has nothing to do with that. Gemini
Looked at the video of the meeting, where you the person sat down with the chequered flag?. I was with them but not the one with the flag as she supports Kings Lynn and went home very happy. You can see us on the video up until heat six when we moved to the back straight, hoping it wouldn't be so cold and windy there. If only I could get Lucy to pay more attention instead of lying down asleep all the time you would have seen her as well.
mdmc82
Our current team total is 35! That's terrible when the point limit was 41.50 and a lot of teams are already hitting 44. If we made a change before the next averages then we would have 10pts spare to replace Woryna (or move him to no 8) I don't think many clubs would have failed to make changes with that many points spare. That's like swapping a reserve for another no
naffer
The 35 is a mistake in the green sheets on the BSPA website.
mdmc82
The 35 is a mistake in the green sheets on the BSPA website. 38.67 is what it should add up to which would leave us with 7.11 to replace Kacper with & move him to a squad rider. Don't think you'd be able to have Kacper as a no 8 now. 38.67 is what it should add up to which would leave us with 7.11 to replace Kacper with & move him to a squad rider. It's for any new rider to the UK this year, which Kacper is.
Woz01
Was 41.5 the limit?
naffer
No it was 40.5 for this year .
CB252
Pointless making a change now. We've got to ride 3 meetings, 2 of which are winnable, without KK and with no facility so the season is over anyway.
