abbo
Always the same with Horton. By May we realise the team building was crap and we're looking at next year. Next year? Got to be joking we are dying a slow death. Poor team, poor presentation, loudspeakers that don't work (1st bend) . Poole meeting "jobsworth" arrived 7.20 pm while Bees fans were watching with children the team preparing for the meeting. We were cleared from the bridge overlooking the Bees pits. Elf and safety was quoted. Later Mr Watson on this site said it was a gangway to allow egress from the stand, he blamed it on the Stadium staff, Mr Heaver I suppose. We arrive on Monday elf and safety has apparently been withdrawn we are again allowed on the bridge!!. Consistent Hey. As far as Save our Speedway stadium is concerned there has been no petition at the stadium, no banners, nothing that would indicate that we are in our last season and in imminent danger of going out of business after our projected last meeting in the middle of August! Yes 3 months away. I think it's time all the genuine supporters realise that this great sport in Coventry is another example following demise of Coventry City FC and Coventry RFC from the top level of their respective sports. I.e 3rd division football and semi professional rugby. There is othing in the stadium that is displayed showing our dire situation. The ideal would be next Monday on Sky although there will not be many there.I haven't missed a Bees meeting in the last 11 years I shall stay at home and watch Sky. ( the only aspect of speedway left on TV) without signing up for BT. Mist other tracks charge £10 if on Sky not Coventry. RanT over!!!!!!!!! Game On
Listening to his post meeting interview on CWR tonight, Horton certainly seems resinged to fail this year. He stated that top riders want to ride for us but simply can't fit it in with their continental commitments and that basically we're stuck with what we have. He went on to say he will be looking at a different approach, hinting at writing this year off with the purpose of building ready for next year? Furthermore he said the BSPA committee of promoters (himself included) have got the rules so wrong this year, they need/will be fixed for next year. Not sounding good for the 2016 season but a positive is he's talking about next year! Mr Horton is a bullrubbishe* Edited May 3, 2016 by Game On

Not very fair on those of us that have season tickets. Take our money and then write of the season.
Alan_Jones
Well good news for Mick Horton, I'm cheaper than Danny King! Sign me up! Are you a 1-R or an ED5?

heathen chemistry
how can mick look forward to next season... what about the stadium?
CB252
Not sure why anyone would buy a season ticket with him in charge. Because if you're a fan, and you know you're going to every meeting, EL and NL, it works out at about 13 quid a meeting. You then don't have to consign yourself to your home for the entire summer because you can't rustle up an extra 3 quid every time there's a meeting. ColinMills
bjarne, bjerre is backward looking, those better days behind them, Sundstrom would be the signing that could rejuvinate the place. obv the average the problem here (and availability)

Woz01
Good post. Think everyone just has given up, including the save the stadium group. If you knew the hard work going on behind the scenes and the people that are using there own free time too the campaign you'd retract that post. They've recently applied to have the stadium listed as an community asset. A meeting is planned in the near future to explain what been happening and what needs to be done next.

Last year we signed a 35 year old who come in a did a smashing job. "past it" Bjerre is better than never been, never will be Sundstrom. Woz01
I wonder if Garritys reluctance to be in the draft had something to do with him being in GP qualifying? Would he have been allowed in the draft and do qualifying as being in GP qualifying would suggest he doesn't need the draft anymore? Just a thought. SteveLyric2
I assume Mick Horton will be looking to sign up a load of Leicester track specialists for 2017 then?! At least that should keep him away from any Poole assets!!!!! ;-) Edited May 4, 2016 by Skidder1
