SCB
How does Bates get an average on 27th. I thought it was 4 home & away meetings or is it 3? He's ridden 3 home & 3 away due to rain offs i assume that as he's an EDR and gets an average after 2/2 he now gets an averages every cut off date. But who knows for sure?! SCB
Why hadn't Newman & Bates got one then? Newman only raced his 2nd away meeting last night so get a new average in a weeks time. Bates has a 2/2 average of exactly 4 so nothing changes in terms of riding order.
NeilWatson
A question for Mr Watson Why has the bridge overlooking the Coventry pits suddenly been designated an "elf and safety" problem?. Last night some 30 people were stood watching the Bees prepare for the meeting. Arrived a "Jobsworth" with no official uniform except a red baseball cap to order people off the bridge stating it was orders from Horton/Watson. Supporters and their children have stood and watched their team prepare their machines (all part of the entertainment for me) and now using a well worn excuse this has been banned, despite the number of years it has been in place. Another "jobsworth" then put a piece of tape across the entry to the bridge. If the management were so keen on "elf and safety" do they not look at the exit situation from the stadium car park. Again last night only the main exit was open! This caused mayhem with cars driving in all directions attempting to egress the car park, this I would suggest is more of a danger to the public than the bridge. The walkway is in fact the fire escape from the hospitality suites, and the stadium have instructed that it be kept clear. This is a similar situation I guess to standing at the back of the stand at Peterborough - it's gone on for many years, but has now changed to meet current requirements . As for the car-park, I have no idea why the second exit wasn't opened and the entrance was throttled, I'll check with the stadium management about this.
stevebrum
Seen that Josh Bates has now got a 4.00 average. If no team changes are forth coming, could you put Josh in the top 5 then use guests for Woryna at reserve who's also on a 4.00?? I hope to god not. That's an abuse of the rules. That's correct, for all riders once they get an established rather than assessed average it is recalculated two-weekly. Seen that Josh Bates has now got a 4.00 average. No, as if two averages are identical the order of those two riders remains as per the previous line-up.
markyb
That's correct, for all riders once they get an established rather than assessed average it is recalculated two-weekly. Coventry fans are proud massively of what the club and the heritage behind the name stands for - so hard to see so much going wrong currently. I am the worlds worse for giving criticism but realise my focus needs to be re- addressed in making the club the best it can be for both now and hopefully the future too. Last night, was so proud of both Bomber and Jason - true Brits who appeared to relish that fact. Edited April 23, 2016 by markyb
SCB
Good to see Sarj having a good night in the PL for Ipswich - 11 from 4 before touching the tapes. Hopefully he's starting to turn a corner.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Sarj was top notch in his 4 programmed rides. Suckered into the tapes in 15 - much to the amusement of Garrity and Bates!!
SCB
Sarj was top notch in his 4 programmed rides. Suckered into the tapes in 15 - much to the amusement of Garrity and Bates!! What gate was he on in heat 15? I'm guessing 2 or 3? In the last 8 times he's touched the tapes hes only been of 1 or 4 once. I'm guessing one of Garrity or Bates were along side him and they they could fool him into moving.
mdmc82
Looking at updates it looks like Sarj had a great night scoring 11. Hopefully his confidence is returning as much better than he has recently been riding for bees.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
A sound assumption SCB Sarj was off 2 with Bates off 1.

SCB
A sound assumption SCB Sarj was off 2 with Bates off 1. Ties in with that I have said a lot. I think he's just sees the tiniest of movement and goes. When he's off 1 and 4 that just means he goes the split second the magnets move and he gets called back for it. Off 2 and 3 I think he sees other riders twitching so goes and does genuinely jump and then as a result touches the tapes sometimes. Now if his team managers would pick up on this and inform him and remind him that off 2 and 3 he might have to be more cautious, it might be crappier starts off 2 and 3 or it might just mean him looking a little further forward off 2 and 3 so he sees less of the opposition riders. But it would stop when he does jump from happening.

Steve Shovlar
I now know why Mick Horton had a go at Matt Ford in the Star last week. He said he doesn't like the way Matt Ford does business, but it was Matt Fords perogative and Horton should know this.
Sir Jasper
Kenny Bjerre would improve the team. Just have to make sure we sign a replacement if we get to the play offs.
