kingbee
Because it's a students price. Not a "poor students" price. What next, tiered pricing based on how much you earn or how much you have in your bank account. A student is a student. An oap is an oap no matter how much they have in a bank account which is what you was on about a few months ago OK for some but not others you can't have it both ways

They also have an adult price but it's not tiered by what you earn. If you're going to have concession you have to make sure it's clear what it is. If you have an OAP price you couldn't only allow poor OAPs, you either do it or you don't.

I understand that but a few months ago you were banging on about oap had plenty of money so they should pay full price. So it should be the same for students as I said pot kettle springs to mind

The concession Coventry are offering is "students" some people said its meant for poor students. If that the case the concession would be called "poor students" and have a criteria of only earning X amount. They don't, they've called it a student concession so all students should get it. The same way that they have always had an OAP concession but ANY OAP could get it - even one with half a million pound could take advantage. Also, students are significantly poorer than OAPs! After 35-65 workers, OAPs are next richest. Then it's 18-35 workers, then students and then children.

mdmc82
Plenty of complaints at the turnstiles Some people will moan for sake of moaning. OAPs are better off than most students. My grandparents are better off now they get pension and help towards bills plus rent free than they were when working 20years ago. It definetly didn't affect the crowd last night. Too be honest there seem to be a huge amount of younger fans esp in the stands anyway so that's positive for the sport. Kids getting in free helps families enjoy it together. Good to see a large amount of travelling fans as well.
heathen chemistry
be a good idea to give them a voucher for a free cup of tea or coffee, then some of them wouldnt need to bring a flask....
beckettlion
The crowd was large yesterday so not sure it's making any differences. Always a massive crowd for cov v Leicester though. Factor in the good Friday date to that too. Doubt there'll be a crowd as big there again all season unless you make the play offs. Doubt we'll get one that big all season (unless lots turn out tonight)

LisaColette
But you can get a free coffee at Waitrose if you have one of their cards. Not that I have ever tried it cos I hate coffee! But would guess it tastes better than a stadium one.

Gemini
Yes, I feel like a pack horse with all the things I carry to speedway meetings. Looks like I'll need 2 blankets tonight (if it's on) one to lie on and one to cover her up against the elements.

heathen chemistry
the only other solution if OAP's dont like paying £17 is to buy a season ticket, would most likely take it down to about £14 a match you also get a programme thrown in aswell Edited March 26, 2016 by heathen chemistry

Cheaper than my local track Leicester too across the board. It's only a couple of grumpy OAP's moaning that usually do a lot of moaning on here anyway so it's just something else to add to their list. All the ones I know at Coventry are back again so there has been no boycott by them and they've obviously managed to scrape together the £3 a week extra. the only other solution if OAP's dont like paying £17 is to buy a season ticket, would most likely take it down to about £14 a match. you also get a programme thrown in aswell. Ah......but that wouldn't work out as they'll probably miss a few meetings when they're on holiday.
