Wolverhampton keeps cropping up, so let's do a comparison.

Adults are £1 more expensive at Wolves

Concessions will be £4 cheaper at Wolves

13-18 years pay £7 at Wolves, so either £2 or £7 more expensive at Wolves

6-12 years are £1 more expensive at Wolves

It seems to me that it is pretty much impossible not to watch speedway more cheaply at Coventry in 2016 than in 2015 unless you are a solo Senior, and we simply could not offer the extensive benefits to the majority of our fans without impacting on this group to the tune of £3 per meeting.

(Apologies to Wolves for using you as an example)

To put this into perspective, I see that a large Cappuccino at Starbucks costs £2.95....

Free Starbucks large Cappuccinos at Brandon next year - bargain!! :wink:

Arithmetic was different when I was at school - £16 used to be more than £14.

......SCB........OAP = £16

Adult = £16

16-16 = 0. Thats the same :lol:

Where is this £16 coming from as I thought admission had been dropped from £18 to £17?

And some of them don't. And some "adults" probably "deserve" a discount too if having been to war is "deserving" of a discount.

I don't deserve any. I know my place.

I think the season ticket price is reasonable esp when you look at the huge price Belle Vue are charging. I will be renewing mine again this year

I'm considering a season ticket too if it's true that I won't be able to get in through the gate next season. With a seat, bag and dog in tow it's going to be hard getting through turnstiles unless I can teach Lucy to do the limbo underneath. The only doubt in my mind is will I last for the whole season to get my money's worth? Decisions, decisions.

so people would rather spend an extra £5 on travelling than pay the increased admission :rolleyes:

will the last person out please turn out the lights

How do you know where they travel from? The bees have historically pulled fans from much further afield than Coventry.

In my case there are two clubs closer to my front door than Brandon , one that is almost within walking distance. I don't go to either track very often as I want to support the bees. At the moment I feel that my loyalty has been worthless

In what should be a £10 sport (especially with the watering down that has happened over the last 5 years), it is hard to justify any price above this but I can see what the Bees are trying to do. Children get in for free - they are the fans of the future, adults get a reduction (that should go down well) and the silver brigade effectively fund this with removing the concession rate.

However, I think a significant number of fans are in the latter category - alienating them means that you have to hope that the other changes pay off - or it will backfire spectacularly.

SCB - you need to hope you don't live too long with your anti-OAP post but you won't need to worry because speedway will be confined to the history books by then!

Give me king as a heat leader over Not so fast Freddie any day of the weak

You been on the sauce?

But given the current situation at Brandon there is no certainty that there is a future.

Just another money grabbing exercise from the promotion in my opinion.

It is more likely that at Coventry as with other clubs there are more people qualifying for OAP discounts each year than new young fans coming into the sport . Hence the price hike.

Where have I been anti-OAP?

You might want to stop being anti-younger generation before you become an OAP as they're the people who will be working in the NHS, in the care homes and there will be more of them to get what they want and not what's good for pensioners.

lol. I'm only joking as I'm in very good health apart from the usual aches and pains that come with old age, but one never knows when one is going to pop off so am I being too presumptuous thinking of a season ticket? :lol: Probably getting Lucy trained in the art of limbo dancing will be the best option.

But if these fans stop going as I will you won't have any speedway to watch in the future kids go for a bit like mine did then they get bored and stop going there's no excitement any more even I got bored the last couple of seasons and I go back to Jack Young but I won't be going again

You've previously said you only went twice this season anyway so reducing that to zero next year won't make a great deal of difference. :neutral:
