LisaColette
You were doing ok until the last paragraph. Dak had been very poor recently whereas Kennett is riding well and usually does well at Poole. The problem here is Poole's history of, let's be neutral, bending the rules. I know if my father had suffered a serious injury I would be off to see him straight away. However, we don't know the facts, we can perhaps assume the injury isn't life threatening, because them I'm sure Dak would have caught the first available flight, so perhaps we give Poole the benefit of the doubt for now. I must say though I doubt I would feel so generous if I were a Coventry supporter. Yes better to make a judgement when the facts are known. Bleeds Pirate Blue
Are we REALLY going to have a debate about the fairness of the guest rule in here, right now? I suppose Poole are behind the Guest rule now as well? It feels like people are clutching at straws/trolling now. The guest rule has been part and parcel of British Speedway for as long as we all remember. Don't bring it up as an excuse for your teams success/failure. It's the same for everyone. Sometimes it works out well for you, sometimes badly... Get over it...
Game On
Dak is close to his dad and a decent lad, your post is pathetic.Must be really close to stay here and not fly over
Gavan
Funny to see Coventry fans looking for any excuse to blame somebody else for not winning. Must be part of this conspiracy Havvy pointed out a while back. What has it come to when a sportsman cannot take compassionate leave without being branded a cheat? We don't know what has happened to his dad, we don't know how serious it is and we don't know how Dak is coping with the stress. Poole would most likely of beaten Coventry at home even with Dak getting 0,0,0 again. Coventry fans just want to use this as another excuse in the bag for if and when they lose. Not to mention using Kennett hardly strengthens the team. To me this is really a case of "better than nothing". stop talking out of you arse If his dad was ' serious' you would be on the next plane home surely!!! No its nice and convenient to use his fathers situation to replace him with a rider who has been in much better form. It stinks to high heaven and the cheating pirates are back in business. Yet another league title gained by bending rules.
ouch
A ten day break for Dakota whilst he gets his head together and finds out the full prognosis of his father will do him the world of good. If the Aces make the final I for one would miss him in the first leg as he is dynamite around Kirky Lane, one of the best and great to watch. My enjoyment though pales into insignificance when compared to a sons concern for his injured father.

Not for replacing a rider who is out of form on the grounds his dad isnt well , but not serious enough for North to want to go and see him. Wonder if Kyle Howarth has an aunty with a cold that maybe he needs to take some time out. Emil Sayfutdinov won a gp with his dad dying. Shows Poole up somewhat dont you think
Star Lady
I've said it once and I'll say it again, you're a nasty piece of work aren't you? If I could work out how to, I'd block you. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=48572 it's very simple
mdmc82
All I will say is you were quick enough to condemn DW for turning up to ride while over the limit. And correctly so. The same should apply here, in fact Dak should have told the promotion about the accident before the first leg. If his mind wasn't on the job it could have turned out worse than it did. Imagine your job involved getting on a speedway bike with no brakes when family member was ill or injured, would your mind be on the job in hand? If that's the case then surely Holder and Watt shouldn't be riding as they have things on their minds
screm
Thing I find most amazing is that North was able to see his GP on a Saturday.
SteveLyric2
How many companies though are allowed to bring in an employee from another company for the day, and in so doing make your company stronger than it was with your original employer. Any company could bring a 'specialist agency' worker in!! Speedway only allows a guest with a lower average!! Incidentally, don't people who are signed off with a medical certificate find it difficult to get insurance eg travel insurance? In any case, Dak's mother is keeping him as informed as the doctors are allowing and she has told him not to come back yet! That doesn't mean he isn't being severely affected by the circumstances!

If Daks mind is understandably elsewhere, it's logical that he take a break in the interest of safety for him and the other riders on track. Compassion costs nothing...
SteveLyric2
Poole club doctor apparently Where has it been stated that he saw Poole's club doctor?. The report says he went to see his own doctor. Have people not heard of 'private' doctors? Don't you have surgeries that open on Saturdays? I didn't realise the Coventry area was so far behind the times!!!! ps. Has anything more been said about Garrity's suspected broken ankle. Broken or not he shouldn't be allowed to ride as he could be putting himself and other riders at risk, if he's in the wrong state of mind!! Shaleshifter
Yet again Speedway in this country becomes a farce and yet again Poole speedway are right at the heart of it. A rider pulls out of a meeting on compassionate grounds because his dad has been in an accident. Now all the crap about needing a doctor is absolute tosh. A doctor will only sign you off with stress not for compassionate leave. The club make the decision not anyone with a medical background. Hans Andersen, Rory Schlien, Tai Woffinden, Emil Sayfutdinov and even more recently Chris Holder, Davey Watt have ridden straight after deaths of family members, friends and after tragic accidents of friends. Dakota North should be riding. The only reason he isnt is because it suits Poole for him not to be there. He isnt even flying home to be with his family, if it was serious he would fly home Fact! Now they get a better rider in to take his place. Poole have done everything by the book this season Now yet again the cheats are back. A disgrace to the sport obviously worried Coventry may beat them so they cheat. I pray that one of the other 3 teams can win the league. you can't help yourself Gavan you really are a nasty piece of work.put your money where your mouth is and prove that Poole are cheats? On another note, if Dakota had scored double fiqures at Brandon would anyone had posted on here about him taking a break?
SteveLyric2
Yes but the agency would send the employer, you wouldn't go along and choose one. Any reputable agency would provide a selection of comparable cv's from which the employer would choose the most suitable!!
