foamfence
t What a pathetic post that sums you up, a riders dad is seriously injured and you worry about him being replaced and the thought of bees now losing to Poole. Do you honestly think dak or Matt ford planned this to happen. I honestly think North would have ridden if Middleditch had asked him to. Game On
All I will say is you were quick enough to condemn DW for turning up to ride while over the limit. And correctly so. The same should apply here, in fact Dak should have told the promotion about the accident before the first leg. If his mind wasn't on the job it could have turned out worse than it did. Imagine your job involved getting on a speedway bike with no brakes when family member was ill or injured, would your mind be on the job in hand? What has DW riding over the limit got to do with DAK not riding due to family problemsEven the statement on bspa just sounds weak.Yep no mention of him rushing to be at his fathers side, just that he has things on his mind.
screm
Poole thought a injury hit Coventry would be a walkover Friday night. When they weren't Ford realised he couldn't take any chances with North not scoring and had to find a way to strengthen. As you say, this was predictable. The fact he's not missing the meeting to fly home says it all. Haven't seen anywhere that North is actually flying home, only that his doctor has advised him to take a week off. Dr Middleditch then smiled, winked and had a wee cough.
B.V 72
This is not a dig at anybody and i wish Dacs dad a speedy recovery. But if Dac had flown home to be with his dad then i dont think anyone would have have thought there was anything underhand going on but seeing that he has not and with Pooles past record i am sad to say it does cause people to think the worst.
mdmc82
Haven't seen anywhere that North is actually flying home, only that his doctor has advised him to take a week off. He's not going home to see him. He's just missing this one meeting and then he's racing again. If it had been Magic or Newman then Poole fans would have been in uproar saying how they were letting the team down. As its Dakota 000 North they are quick to jump to their teams defence. LisaColette
Lol not surprised that Swindon fans are defending Poole. It doesn't say he's seriously injured anywhere. Why is North not flying back and only having a week off? He's been scoring terribly for weeks now If you look at my posts over the last month you will see that I have respected Poole for being a good team and having got where they had so far this season without cheating. I would have even congratulated them if they won but not now. Hollow victory of you have to cheat to do it. I feel sorry for the genuine Poole fans who must get fed up of this Good luck Belle Vue. Have worked hard to get where they are, like Coventry, without cheating. Have you apologised about your comments about the accident being 3 weeks ago when it wasn't? Thought not...
mdmc82
All sounds a little fish cakey to me if he is not on a plane and out for the rest of season, whilst I wish Rod all the best I have to say this I predicted North was going to be unavailable for this, what really grates me as I thought we were going to end the season with the riders we started with which would probably be a first but no it makes us look like something dodgy is going on. Always like your posts as very fair over the seasons and never just defend your team 100% due to it being your team. Top poster 👍🏻 Have you apologised about your comments about the accident being 3 weeks ago when it wasn't? Thought not... No and I won't be. I said it was reported by a couple of posters on Twitter and it was. Have you apologised for your team always cheating, thought not.
Bleeds Pirate Blue
I would suggest certain facts need to be known definitively before Poole can be accused of cheating. Firstly, when did Dak's father get injured? Secondly, how serious is the injury? Perhaps then can you establish a timeline for whether Poole "fiddled" this incident. Also, just because other riders have choosen to continue racing soon after serious incidents may have affected them emotionally is their own choice. People react differently, and if someone's decisions are different to your own, so be it. Also, speedway has long been a sport with poor rules and loopholes. Everyone takes advantage whenever they can and screams bloody murder as soon as another team does it. Yes Dak has been poor in the last month, and this incident gives Poole an opportunity to replace him, but to suggest it's a setup is crazy. By all accounts a man has been hurt in an industrial accident and people on here are finger pointing and hurling insults. Disgraceful. It disappoints me that speedway, a sport generally supported by a maturer audience, can have such a vindictive and poisonous supporter base. I wonder how many on here look at the younger generation of "hoodies" and happy-slapping and shake their heads, yet use Internet speedway forums to act the troll and spout nonsense.
Game On
Do doctors write sicknotes on compassionate grounds? Surely that's your employers job to decide wether you get leave or not.Yes but only pooles doctor, maybe Coventrys club doctor should sign Howarth off for a week because he's pants and has so much on his mind.
Steve0
FFS I can't believe some people! North's father is on the other side of the world and isn't very well and rightly so Dak's mind is elsewhere. Any compassionate employer would give their staff leave on compassionate grounds - it doesn't mean that he has to travel to the other side of the world! A right cynical bunch and I know I would rather have Dak in the team than EK - it hardly strengthens Poole!!
oleoleole
First of all I hope Dakota's father has a full recovery but I find it strange that his fathers condition is so serious that Dakota cannot concentrate on racing but not serious enough to fly home. Yet again Poole are called cheats. An annual occurrence. Such a shame really. We nearly got to the end of the season without too much controversy and now rules have been stretched to breaking point again by the usual protagonists.

A right cynical bunch and I know I would rather have Dak in the team than EK - it hardly strengthens Poole!! You were doing ok until the last paragraph. Dak had been very poor recently whereas Kennett is riding well and usually does well at Poole. The problem here is Poole's history of, let's be neutral, bending the rules. I know if my father had suffered a serious injury I would be off to see him straight away. However, we don't know the facts, we can perhaps assume the injury isn't life threatening, because them I'm sure Dak would have caught the first available flight, so perhaps we give Poole the benefit of the doubt for now. I must say though I doubt I would feel so generous if I were a Coventry supporter.
Popular Post Gavan
Yet again Speedway in this country becomes a farce and yet again Poole speedway are right at the heart of it. A rider pulls out of a meeting on compassionate grounds because his dad has been in an accident. Now all the crap about needing a doctor is absolute tosh. A doctor will only sign you off with stress not for compassionate leave. The club make the decision not anyone with a medical background. Hans Andersen, Rory Schlien, Tai Woffinden, Emil Sayfutdinov and even more recently Chris Holder, Davey Watt have ridden straight after deaths of family members, friends and after tragic accidents of friends. Dakota North should be riding. The only reason he isnt is because it suits Poole for him not to be there. He isnt even flying home to be with his family, if it was serious he would fly home Fact! Now they get a better rider in to take his place. Poole have done everything by the book this season Now yet again the cheats are back. A disgrace to the sport obviously worried Coventry may beat them so they cheat. I pray that one of the other 3 teams can win the league.
