liam
No one should be having a pop at North, but doctors now giving out certs on compassionate grounds could open up a big can of worms. What's to stop any club with a rider who doesn't ride a track well now telling him to say he's not right in the head to ride so they can get a guest? The rider could say he's struggling with stress or anything and can't ride. Iam not having a pop at North at all if that was my dad I wouldn't be doing my job either. speedibee
lets be honest, did we stand a chance? no not really, the damage has been done in the first leg. is this ford up to his old tricks? yes of course it is, he want leave anything to chance. compassionate leave, is an option an employer can give to any worker if they feel its warranted. so saying its a "medical note" is just rubbish. technically Coventry could now issue compassionate leave for the entire team and have the storm ride instead, on the grounds that they are all stressed after the first leg. its nonsense, we all know it is and will be stopped in the winter. does make a difference to what the core would have been? no ford just making sure on the percentages It will all be Stopped in the winter (you should know better ).. Coventry should all get compassionate leave due to the trauma of Losing Garrity , Just long enough for him to be fit ..
Rob VDS
Oh yes it's you . Johnny come lately . dont know what happened to the block , but now I know who you are I can see the reason behind your blinkered postings . havent been around speedway long enough to know that Pooles list of cheating goes back so far and is so wide reaching that it's Matt Fraud to 99% of speedway fans Just out of interest how long do you think I've been around speedway? I'll give you a clue, Matt Ford was nowhere in sight. And name calling, really? Embarrassing 👍

But we all know what Poole are up to, and fair play for using loopholes in the rules to their advantage. Whether it does the sport any good is another argument, but Poole don't seem to care.
Game On
Or Know even Not a dig just at you but the standard of spelling on this forum is atrocious I think you will find it's spelt correctly, but the wrong word has been used. I for one applaud North it must've been difficult to come forward and spill out his emotions. And for the disappointing posts regarding the issue from folk on here it's amazing how insensitive you all are ! His father is seriously ill after an accident and some of you are questioning his integrity. If he's not in the right frame of mind he's not putting the other riders at risk and therefore I back his decision 100% ! Good on ya Dak hope you're dad gets well soon. I applaud him for managing 18 holes in such trying circumstances. So why is it wrong for Dak to be on the golf course & is he expected to sit in his house thinking over & over about his father ? No what Watty did is what all good mates do take him out and do something instead of dwelling on it all the time ! Really Mick Horton you're comments a truly amazing if I were you stay away from Poole speedway you are not welcome after you're insensitive comments He is expected to get his arse on a plane and see his sick farther. I'm not missing anything. Kennett is weaker and usually goes missing when the pressure is on. But there won't be any pressure on him. Perfect excuse for Horton to blame someone else when he couldn't sign a decent number 2 and 5 which would have won them the league. Now all the Cov fans will say injuries and cheating cost them thus deflecting the attention away from his shortcomings. Well played sir! I'm afraid I have to agree with you on that one. He scored 0 at home to Swindon, conveniently didn't mention that. Add to the 0 at Brandon he isn't in any form at all. You stated Bees had shortcomings signing riders yet most other clubs had the same issue including yourselves. I don't see how Horton is making excuses he isn't happy with the North situation like many speedway fans in general. We called this last week that North would be replaced. Horton(sponsors) was willing to splash the cash. No one wanted to come. Do you honestly think that know one wanted to come over?

SCB
He has been told not to jump on a plane but to wait for further news from his mum following the operation!! Whats so difficult to understand with that course of action? His head must be all over the place!! So why isn't he riding then? And what is his dads injury? Until we know when his dad was injured and what the injury is, it's hard to know how justified this "compassionate leave" is. I can assure you though if I was given compassionate league from work because my dad was ill but I went off to a different continent to me country I don't think my employer would be impressed! To get compassionate leave it's not unreasonable for an employer to ask for evidence - in this case I don't see how it's unreasonable for the SCB (is it they who ask for drs notes from riders?) to ask for Rod Norths drs notes and to determine if his injuries are life threatening or not. If not, it's one great big Poole scam.

And maybe the SCB know about his condition just not in the media. Edited September 21, 2015 by lisa-colette
Grachan
Dak having worries about his father and taking some time off. Fine. Poole having a guest facility in the circumstances. Not fine. Poole's fault? No.

And maybe the SCB know about his condition just not in the media. So I can walk up to my boss now and say, "My dad has suffered an injury. I'm off home"? I very much doubt it, they'll need proof! And a note from my dr won't be good enough. The fact nobody from Poole is willing to confirm when he was injured and what the injury is just makes people all the more dubious. Had Dak been on a plane back to Australia I think we'd all have a fair deal of sympathy for him but while he's still in this country it frankly stinks. Dak having worries about his father and taking some time off. Fine. Poole having a guest facility in the circumstances. Not fine. Poole's fault? No. Kind of agree. Once again Matt Ford takes advantage of a situation and the powers that be (BSPA, SCB, ACU, whoever) just let him get away with it.

thehammer
nail on the head.... But being self employed may be different?? If it's anything like me being self employed when I went to the doctors they asked if I needed a doctors note for my employer..... Told them not much point when I'm self employed as ill or not I'll still have to work to bring the $ in!
