The Newman thing is down to the ref. If a ref didn't think there was a rule about it, how many riders know about it?

The Dak thing, do you really think Dak would let Poole use the situation with his dad to 'rest him?' I don't think so. Dak is pretty outspoken so can't see it. As I've said before they would just have got a doctors note for him saying he has the flu.

I think you'll find my post is not the same as the guff you've been banging on about day after day after day going backwards and forwards saying the same thing over and over and over again. Just move on.

And again you reply ...as I said you need to take you own advice . how hard can it be even for you .

I think there is a good chance of you crashing at that speed!! And that would be breaking the law, Poole didn't break the rules.

I agree with that. I don't think Poole broke any rules but they were morally very dodgy. But hey, can't do anything about that and I'm just about ok with it. But the argument of, "we didn't gain" doesn't hold water.

And I'd love to try doing 150 :D

I would like to see you try and do your job properly knowing that a parent was in hospital half way around the world and you could do nothing about getting there

Firstly, I've done it. Many times. As do most people, regardless of distance people are away from them.

Secondly, he could do many things about getting there if he'd wanted too.

Thirdly he wasn't even concerned enough to get up to date with the situation (his own words).

Fourthly, Dak wasn't looking after a family, running a home and being rushed of his feet trying to work. He was out playing golf, at an arcade and wasn't due to work till some 3 days later.

There is no comparison.

I think you'll find the 'guff' as you call it is one of the major issues with the sport and why fans up and down the country eventually decide, enough is enough, stuff this sport.

'Moving on' as you like to do it is all speedway ever does and is one of the main reasons it is in the mess it is.

Indeed human history would have made zero progress had everyone adopted the same attitude of 'move on'.

You want to see the sport continue to die? Keep 'moving on'.

I'm glad people aren't letting this go, as long as it remains a mystery, the questions will go on and it will reflect on Poole Speedway.

I was so moved by the feelings shown (apart from the group of guys who stood near me on the 1st bend) at Darcy's meeting and all that has been said by Matt and Neil, as it's all come from the heart 100%.

It's hard to believe they would use Dakota and his Dad as is being suggested on here but they have previous so for this one to be put to bed, they need to give a little more detail IMO .....

Belle Vue didn't "break" any rules a few years back but were rightly penalised. It's not just about the rule book as you expect some moral responsibility from competitors, something regrettably lacking at Poole.

Newman did break the rules but that doesn't seem to matter to you lot either.

What an obnoxious bunch you are.

Where have i ever said Newman didn't break the rules, i have repeated said that he did and the points gained should have been removed.

I find people who don't take responsibility for their actions as nauseous. I find people who make excuses for people who don't take responsibility for their own actions as cretinous.

I can see you're the type of person who defends the joyrider who kills a child on the basis that it was the police's fault for not catching him.

'Obnoxious bunch' doesn't even come close.

What a completely stupid comparison to make. Cos someone not knowing if it is in the rules whether if they have to wear goggles or not, is the same as killing someone on the road. Do me a favour.

Hilarious that this thread is still going, never knew the Forum was so chocca with medically-qualified bods (inc Darcy thread), at least I know who to contact if my health takes a turn for the worse. Thank god there's not more interesting/pressing matters in Speedway.

So of us are medically trained.

Of which you have no knowledge so has no validity.

Someone who has to remain in hospital is by definition incapable of doing their job.

Eh?

I said if you have a family member in hospital it doesn't render you incapable of doing your job. Not the guy in the hospital of course!

The only hilarious thing is people posting on something they have no interest in.

In your opinion. There are many more far reaching and real reasons than Dak's absence (which has been explained more times than an Only Fool & Horses repeat!!) why folks walk away from the sport. This issue has nothing to do with it. So yes, time to move on and discuss current issues. The past is the past. You can't change it so whingeing about is pointless.
