Not as good as Ove Fundin though, eh, Sidney? ;)

Better than Ove Norbold,Ove was a whiteliner a siting duck,a dirty sod as well.No only joking Norbold,a great rider i think going by my programmes i see him ride only once for Wembley in 1970 scoring eight points Briggo stuffed him twice. Edited by sidney

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HSQCZzsF6_Y Just for you Norbold, on the Ove/Barry early rivalry was it a tense and prickly one Norbold.?I can remember Barry saying that Ove would often run over his foot,in the end though they ended up great mates total respect for each other and Ove often ended up staying at Barry's after meeting's.

For me Ove was better in the early 60s, Briggo top dog mid-60s, then succeeded by Ivan The Terrible late 60s.

Yes, I'd go along with that.

Out of interest, I looked through my 1960 and 1961 programmes (New Cross plus Wembley World Final 1960 and Harringay Internationale Final 1961) and, I have to say, Ove wasn't quite as dominant as I thought. I saw them race eleven times over those two years and Ove won 7-4, though it should also be remembered that New Cross was Briggo's home track in 1960.

Thank you, sidney. I was there!

Having just finished reading Barry's book i can tell you it is an excellent read. Younger fans who did not see Briggo in action might not enjoy it as much as I did, but everyone who followed his career will thoroughly enjoy it.

I did Custom very much a great rider for me,but there were other great riders also around at the same time.I still think 1972 Barry could of equaled the great Ove's reord,it was not to be Briggo for me was an icon great value as a punter Bloody exciting to watch he was a credit to the sport.

Having seen all of Briggo's BLRC wins at Hyde road I thought BLRC stood for Briggo's Latest Riders Championship  .
