Edinburg V Bandits

Thats a fair point, though it should be standard admission prices anyway. A combined ticket would take joined up thinking! The result on Friday night will determine how many handfuls of 0131's travel over.

There appeared to have been joined up thinking with the season ticket offer earlier this season but this for some reason was withdrawn by Edinburgh although I read that Glasgow kept there promise

Sorry , but cup final or not , to increase the admission price to 20 pounds for both legs , for what is 15 heats of speedway between Edinburgh and Glasgow each day , is a bit of a smack in the teeth for the fans of both clubs . I cant remember for sure , but I don't recall such a stunt being pulled for the 1994 KO Cup final the last time we raced each other in a national final

I appreciate supply and demand but is Speedway really a sport that falls in line in terms of ticket cost for say the Guiness Pro 12 Final, Edinburgh Rugby games at Murrayfield, Hearts or Hibs games or even tickets to see the Edinburgh Capitals?

I am not sure it is. In Edinburgh’s defence tickets can be bought for £15 now, but £20 on the day.....

I was going to go but if its 20 pounds at the gate maybe not

Pretty shabby from both clubs IMO, asking £20 admission for a meeting between PL clubs is a bit much, but it isn't to late for the promotions to change their minds and charge normal prices, how much good publicity, and extra people through the gate would that get them.

The question is if it was not a local Derby would the prices be put up. £20 on the night is a bit much IMO .

Of course it wouldn't , pretty shabby treatment of both team's supporters . Once again speedway clubs takes it's paying public for granted

I sometimes think that speedway promoters have a " Field of Dreams " attitude to meetings - " If we stage it they will come "

ONLY IF ITS A GOOD MEET EVEN ON PAPER.ME AND MY FRIENDS 4 HAVE HARDLY BEEN TO A MEET WITH R/R .DONT SEE WHY PAY TOP DOLLAR FOR A LESSER FIELD. PEOPLE HAVE A CHOICE NOW IE STOCK CARS .KNOCKHILL.CROFT AT TEESIDE . GO KARTS.WHICH IS SURPRING GOOD BUT SPEEDWAY IS OUR FIRST LOVE BUT HAS TO BE TEMPTING TO GET US TO GO

Edinburgh did not charge extra last year....mind you as a season ticket holder I got a lot of extra meetings for free...so The promotion changed matters this year but still let me in for 14 so hats off to them.....guess I'll need to sponsor something!

Why are most people questioning edinburgh for putting their price up for the meeting by £3 yet Glasgow have put their prices up by £5.

Anyway most people by their tickets online anyway at a price of £15 so i don't see what the big deal is.

because you moan about Glasgow spiel on Monarchs threads :) ... Do you have an opinion blobby or prefer to obsess over Glasgow like a deluded disciple :)

Ps

For those moaning about £20 entry, Bigeddiecak has been paying it for 2 seasons to help keep the Bandits afloat!! Hats off.

Do i think it's right to put the prices up no. We didn't do it last year, just because it's against Glasgow shouldn't mean we put them up this year. But most people are buying advanced tickets anyway at a discounted price. We have currently sold 27% more tickets online all ready than we have for any other meeting since doing online tickets so it looks like a massive chunk of the crowd have took advantage of the discounted rate of £15 anyway.
