Big Al
All this talk of Zagar's "Commitment " to Belle Vue makes me smile. How committed was he at Leicester when he disgraced the Aces bib by tootling around at the back for 3 of his 4 rides, and ended up with 1 point. In many of his other matches, when he missed the gate he seemed quite happy to stooge around at the back, admiring the scenery. His performance in the A fixture at Swindon left a bit to be desired. Was it 2 points ? How many times has he declined to ride in heat 15 ? OK, I know that the match was usually won by then, but were the punters happy to be short-changed ? Couldnt agree with you more. I felt well ripped-off when i went expecting to see a team performance from BV at Leicester and a close competitive match and wrote to them afterwards because their number one took the p*ss out of the paying public and his team-mates by pratting around and actually caused a hazard to other riders. I think he was given a kick up the backside by BV after that, because he seemed to get his act together for a while. I hope the boot was a big one with a steel toecap because that's what I'd have worn. I'm sure that he is genuinely unfit to ride today and hope he sends some of his earnings from Pardubice to his BV team mates.
orion
Is a bit rich Swindon fans complaining about a rider with a genuine injury who, very sensibly, decided to have a try out meeting to see if the injury had mended before riding in what is a very important meeting for his club. As has been reported his injury had not healed and he is going for further treatment today. Swindon fans would have preferred he didn't ride yesterday and instead took a chance today which, in the light of what has happened after riding yesterday, could have resulted in him not being able to give 100% and the Aces losing out on a place in the final. I can understand that but don't try to justify it by pretending to take the moral high ground when you have a history this season of using a guest for Miedzinski when he was obviously fit enough to ride. But that not true I posted before the match that AJ was going to ride so please cut out the bull about this fitness test etc the cat had been let of the bag already ...not sure why you have told the same thing so many times ...As for Miedzinski most of the Swindom fans slagged him off for not riding while being fit ...As I said before if Aces replacement had been poorer or they had got beat there fans Attitude would have been completely different towards Zagar in what he is doing . ouch
I don't get what Zagar is getting out of this? We know as it's been brought up again on here that he gets his money if he scores 1, 2 or 15. Why would he cost himself money. If it's not about the money and he can't be arsed then why would he travel to the dinner dance we held last November when there was no £3k on offer. Top and bottom of it is you would rather tackle an Aces side tracking an injured rider. Appalling!

Aces51
If Miedzinski was still in the Swindon side and riding overseas, then Swindon should not have had a guest for him.I'm not sure if they did anyway, as they signed Kildemand as cover. And Miedzinski could have been given a 28 day ban if deemed to be witholding his services, which would also have allowed a facility. But there may have been matches when Miedzinski was riding overseas and was till in the Swindon side, and if so then I don't see why Swindon should have had a guest. But I don't know if that was the case, so if you know better perhaps you could point out which matches it applies to.I certainly can't be bothered looking back to find the matches but if you look at post #166 you will see that Orion, in a rare moment of lucidity, confirms it. If I remember, it was some rubbish about only being able to ride one or two matches a week so he couldn't fit Swindon in. Again, if memory serves, he immediately rode 3 matches in a week in Poland and Sweden. Orion also fails yet again in that post to understand that there was nothing underhand about the Aces having Jonsson on standby. They knew Zagar had suffered further internal bleeding after riding in the GP and that after resting for a week he was going to have a try out on Sunday. There was obviously a risk he wouldn't come through that try out so like any sensible promotion they had a rider on standby to replace him. We all know that. Mr Beanie even appeared riding on Eurosport. What the issue was, was if Swindon used a guest for him while he was riding overseas and not having withdrawn his services. That's a different issue. If so, I dont see why a guest should be allowed, but he could have been deemed to have witheld his services if riding abroad, in which case a facility would be available. Aces51
Anyway, on to the match. I don't rule out a Swindon aggregate win but think the Aces should be able to keep it close enough to secure their place in the final.

I reckon we need Worrall to have an absolute beast and Wright to score double figures to have a chance. Just hope we at least put up a fight and don't appear to give up like we did against Coventry last year.

No doubt Zagar will have another fitness test at the next Gp ....you have to wonder how naïve people are at times Edited September 21, 2015 by orion

Phil The Ace
I think you maybe right but risking further damage yesterday just to demonstrate the injury wasn't faked was ill advised. Having said that, and judging by some comments attributed to Swindon people, without the clear video evidence from yesterday I would have expected at the very least a protest from swindon into what otherwise looked like a premature guest booking. I hope it wasn't Belle Vue who insisted he ride yesterday just to cover themselves. Premature guest booking??????? AJ is officially on STANDBY for all 4 play off meetings should zagar be unable to take his place. Zagar is unable to ride if he's in a hospital bed is he now. barrow boy
If a team books a guest for a rider who isn't injured that would be rather premature wouldn't it? For whatever reason Zagar rode yesterday and proved OTHERWISE! There would not be an issue if teams missing a rider in dubious circumstances were not allowed a guest replacement but instead were asked to utilise the rider replacement facility. In the case of a team's number 1 rider being involved I would suggest that the number 2 rider be allowed to take 2 of his rides with one each being taken by any other 2 riders. For whatever reason Zagar rode yesterday and proved OTHERWISE! Zagar was expected to miss rest of season which is why AJ is on standby. Matej though is determined to give it ago. He tried in the GP ended up in hospital having more blood drained from his groin. He tried again yesterday resulting in once again a trip to hospital to have blood drained. He shouldn't be riding but he's that determined to ride he keeps trying. I now fear is season is Deffo over and we won't see him in the GPs or league racing now. As a belle Vue fan I'm glad he's trying to see if he can ride in an individual meeting rather than try in a team meeting and rating a club and it's fans down. I should imagine you would also want it this way if it was one of your riders coming back from injury. And a bad injury at that.

B.V 72
Good God what a load of B/S the bottom line is that 2 teams and i said 2 teams have ridden their hearts out for a full season to get into the play offs.Zagar be he stupid or testing to see if the injury was ok is still injured and not Belle vues fault so why should they lose out. So for me its about the team and the fans of both clubs and we all deserve to have 2 teams that are competative in a play off semi final So if Belle vue bring in Jonsson for Zagar then they are no stronger or weaker as they are both on a par with each other in the Elite league. So it is even for both clubs and then the team that wins goes through on merit and not because one has had to field a weakened team.
