The SAINT
What stroke are you on about? Don't you think we'd prefer Thomsen to ride and not have to bring in a guest? If it had been the guest who had bagged 18 points I could understand it, but he got no more than, and probably less than, Thomsen would have got. At best, it's muddled thinking; at worst, it's just lashing out and having a pop at Panthers because Sheffield lost so embarrassingly. YOU might have preferred thomsen to ride, but he was never going to - and that is the point, there shouldn't have been a guest at all!! did sheffield lose embarrassingly ?? and why is that any concern of mine ??? who is the muddled thinker here ?????????? Charlieboy
Well done Peterboro, deserved win on the night. Were more up for it than our lads.We couldn't get near Barker all night.Last night showed we are now weaker without guests for Steady.Garritty is not a number 1 yet and we needed Bates at reserve to have any chance. The promotion tried to go a different way with the team and it has failed. One of few mistakes they've made this season.Praise to them for their efforts throughout a very tough season.I think the track wasn't as good as normal with the usual grip which didn't help our lads who are use to the grippy surface we usually have.Oh well 2nd leg to come but not holding on to much hope for us,expect to lose by about 16 points would be my guess. Not happy with the date for the 2nd leg as I don't get back from holiday till the 28th !!!!!! how inconsiderate of the peterboro promotion !!! wonder if they could change it ?
proud panther
Brilliant result for the Panthers, but poor racing on a slightly slicker than normal track. Ben Barker was different class, & dragged us back into it with his early victories. Very impressed with Josh Bates, who has improved a lot this season. Got to be Ricky Wells as guest in the home leg.
Panthers89
So what I heard that, ged was banned from the pits at Sheffield, can see the Sheffield promotion sitting in the stands with the mere peasants in the return leg

PE7Panther
The argument is that there should not have been a facility for Thomsen. why not? He had a certificate from a doctor. And that's that!

Where's your evidence that he was never going to ride? Ged announced that all three were in the team after all, and then Thomsen went sick - WITH a doctor's certificate. So no rules broken and Panthers were entitled to use a guest. You ask "why is that any concern of mine?" Exactly! The whole tone of your posts gives the game away; whoever your own fav team is, you're clearly miffed that Panthers won. Anyway, what if Ged did out-smart Sheffield? I'm not saying that's the case, but if he did then good for him - and it serves them right! Blackadder
Anyone can go to the Doctor and say they have sickness and diarrhoea, and can they have a sick note for work. No checks will be made. Medicine may be prescribed, with a recommendation to come back if things don't get better. Job done.

TheScotsman
Sickness & diarrhoea - should mean a mandatory 4 Ireland 5 days off a bike in order for the rider to get their fluids & strength back.

Sheffield have a policy, as advised by the H&S people, that once bikes are being warmed up, anyone who has no business in the Pits is asked to leave. So riders, mechanics, paramedics, pit staff, officials and team managers are ok. Others are just getting in the way.
LMNS
I heard Ged say that they had Andersen booked for Thomsen since Monday ... Can he tell me what the winning lottery numbers are please! Also heard officials saying that they thought Peterborough were cheating, and admited it, but played smartly so nothing could be done. Fair play to Peterborough - even with all their goings on to pull back a 12pt deficit was pretty amazing! Firm favourites now to meet Edinburgh - who lets face it will walk over whoever they face between the two teams. Panthers89
We will be a bigger threat at Edinburgh than we would at home to them if we beat Sheffield. As pushed them close with a makeshift team last time round.

After years of naivety I'm pleased to hear we finally have a promotion prepared to work the system - now on an even playing field with others.

I'm sure all teams would do the same if they had the opportunity. Peterborough played the game, but were still able to pull back a 12 or deficit into a lead - fair play to them. Crump99
To be fair it was Gary Patchett not Bratters I thought that Bratters told me that he had the pleasure? Oops, I mean that's not what I recall my unnamed source telling me but you're probably right Tbh I'd be quite proud to have got under Patchett's skin, so fair play to PO Edited September 19, 2015 by Crump99
