Panthers89
Reading garritys bit said on the Sheffield report of the meeting, where is it we have said Sheffield don't deserve to be in the playoffs? If true, very disrespectful as like us, they have made the most of the guest rule.

SteveLyric2
I don't often post on the PL threads but as it was the only meeting on last night, I followed on 'updates' - mainly to check on Garrity's fitness if I'm honest! Well done Panthers.
Bostonian
All I can say is hats off to Peterborough, they deserved the win after the first 3 heats. We started off like a house on fire, then suddenly stopped making the gates, and not managing to get heat wins cost us dearly. Ben Barker was fantastic and I think he would of given Stead a run for his money last night he was that quick! Like a similar post said, Sheffield lacked that big scoring heat leader tonight and looks like the injuries have finally caught up with us, as the team is just not as strong as it was at the start of the season. Ideally Bates was needed down at reserve. Paco seems like he's finding the PL tough and Andre looked like he had bike troubles all night. If you look at individual scores, without Barker, the meeting would of been about level, but an 18 point max is always going to effect the scoreline. Can't be doing with all this rubbish from both promotions, we want a fair hard fought play off quater final with the best team winning. Not who can get each others riders banned, excluded or 'not being at full strength'. The tie is definitely not over, so Panthers fans need to calm down a touch for the moment, Im sure Sheffield aren't finished yet!

The SAINT
Even if they criminaly took Andersen's points off we would still only be 6 down..this whole episode really has made Sheffield look desperate and embarrassing. are you for real ??????????????????? a rider who originally couldn't ride (then we were told he miraculously could) eventually 'falls sick' on the day of the match and (still) couldn't ride .....wonder which country his sick bed is in ???? wonder if he'll be fit for saturday ??? (WE ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWERS) another little stroke pulled and yet sheffield are labelled 'desperate and embarrasing !!!! take a look closer to home ps/ congratulations to peterborough, the best team (on track) on the night, great comeback Edited September 18, 2015 by The SAINT
Crump99
If the Sicknote was obtained under false pretences, then a Facility would not be permitted. The reason for the discussion between officials before the meeting was because Peterborough had not thought to inform the Referee or the MC earlier in the day of the programme change. Sheffield wanted to lodge a protest, but were advised they couldn't go against a Doctor's Sicknote. Peterborough threatened to withdraw for some reason, but were threatened with a fine if they did so, so didn't. When Ty Proctor was deported, the UKVI insisted on seeing a copy of his departure documentation, so it should be reasonably easy for the SCB to request copies of Mr Thomsen's original travel details, the cancellation documents and his revised details, if they so choose. Anyway, congratulations to Ben Barker for an immaculate 6 ride maximum, and to the Cheetahs on getting a result. We'll hear no more about that then. Can you imagine every similar decision needing to be fully documented and verified, including a full paper trail? What a Pandora's box that'd be. The sport would never take place unless each team had its full 7 out on a mutually agreed date another little stroke pulled and yet sheffield are labelled 'desperate and embarrasing !!!! take a look closer to home We didn't pick the date or weren't allegedly even asked if we wanted to ride or had a better alternative (which we did btw and would have avoided all of these handbags). I'd say that Peterborough were playing the game for once and making the best of the desperate and embarrasing fixture into which they seem to have been forced. scoobydoo
Whilst no Panthers fan would feel its a forgone conclusion of progessing though its also safe to say the Panthers side in the second leg will be stronger with Thomsen back and a possible guest of Tungate, Wells or even Robert Lambert the Panthers are hit n miss at the showground but hopefully they would see this job though.
mudflaps
masterstoke by Supremo Rathbone it was a big ask of Anders Thomsen - Jonas B. Andersen taking up to 6 rides could be the trump card... well said that man.....!
lucifer sam
I see two-thirds of the Panthers Trio from the old Weird World days are still around and are as barmy as ever. Well done Peterborough on last night's win, but after their gamesmanship, I wonder if we'll see a pumped-up Sheffield out for revenge in the second leg. That second leg should be one hell of a meeting, because there's certainly no love lost between the two sides after this week's events. All the best Rob Edited September 18, 2015 by lucifer sam

All the best Rob garrity & co were giving it large in the 1st 3 heats , Sheffield looked well up for it and got the crowd going but they simply didn't have any answers when panthers gated

scoobydoo
So Sheffield didnt want it on last night as they thought Peterborough would be severely weakened think both promotions are equally at fault . Sheffield started last night pumped up but as it said on updates after the ht3 result are Sheffield that good or Peterborough that bad ?? Another 9 pages of cheating Panthers to come then Burger-gate part 2. Wonder if it will last as long as burger-gate part 1? Could be along week ahead Edited September 18, 2015 by scoobydoo

Yup, the worthless negative ones are still here and attending (just in my case) whereas young Raquel "Fans' Viewpoint of the year 2009 or thereabouts" is nowhere to be seen, apart from Florida perhaps. secsy1
Absolutely fantastic meeting from the neutrals point. Sheffield started like a house on fire but quickly burnt out. Does not matter about the petty squabbling, get on with it on 27 September and maybe if Sheffield want it as much as Peterborough did last night, then game on. Don't you think we'd prefer Thomsen to ride and not have to bring in a guest? If it had been the guest who had bagged 18 points I could understand it, but he got no more than, and probably less than, Thomsen would have got. At best, it's muddled thinking; at worst, it's just lashing out and having a pop at Panthers because Sheffield lost so embarrassingly. Blackadder
The argument is that there should not have been a facility for Thomsen.
