BWitcher
I am surprised that the Russian speedway federation don't want the kudos of having a Russian world champion. If I was running Russian speedway I would be doing all I could to get Emil in to the series and making sure it was financially viable for him to do so. No you wouldn't. You'd be doing everything you could to wrest the power of running the sports World Championship away from another body... And making it financially viable to a certain rider to help you in that quest.
Red Panda
Kurtz or Fricke what do you think RP.? What do I think?????????? Max Fricke deserves a shot..........he stepped up to the mark at Belle Vue where as the other suggestions are double up riders...............Brady Kurtz should get a reserve berth...................if only some of the other riders who double up would give the EL a shot on its own the sport could be a whole lot better............. RP Its ok going full time EL if you have another regular league to ride in,otherwise it is not realistic. Also just riding EL do you really progress as a rider? i don't think so i think you would often struggle on the larger circuits abroad.I rate Fricke has a great style he has made real progress.I myself would give Kurtz the nod but i WORRY that he would overide and the occasion would get to him.. Sam Masters and Justin Sedgeman finished 2 and 3 behind Doyle in Aussie title. Dak North and Grazonek have had solid seasons as well. Not yet for Kurtz and Fricke, they'll get a chance later. Of course Ward was a cert, but who knows what BSI will do. Will be interesting to see who gets the nod. For 2016 Hampel, Kildemand, a Swede and Smolinski. Sayfutdinov should ride. Great to watch and head to head better than Woofinden. Fricke and Kurtz are now better than all of those you named and i actually like all of them Fricke/Kurtz have big futures. OveFundinFan
Trouble is, what one thinks is the top 15 today may well be well out by the time 2016 GP's come around. Linback was in the GP's recently as a regular, didn't perform, didn't top 8, didn't get a wild card. His form changed to somthing good at the moment but whose to say that will last into next year. Some of the young riders getting into next year have got to prove themselves over a season of GP's, which is different to doing well at one Gp on your home track. Of course, getting the top 15 together is just a dream. Emil doesn't want it, and the two Lagutas seem to get overlooked for whatever reason. I think the GP's should be reduced to say 5 rounds, and have qualifiers early in the year to determine who goes into the GP series proper together with top 6 from previous year. That makes top 6 from previous year, plus 9 from qualifiers and 1 wildcard for each GP (for home crowd/commercial interest).

I think Grigorij have declined and as for Artem, he tried a few years ago and didn't do well, perhaps he was a little inexperienced back then. He also had to skip Cardiff round due to (what was claimed) Visa issues. Edited September 18, 2015 by Ghostwalker

Turn the clock back to the mid 1970's with Peter Collins, Malcolm Simmons, John Louis, Dave Jessup, Ray Wilson, Chris Morton, Terry Betts, and then Kenny Carter and Michael Lee, you'd have had a GP field in those day more than half British...would you have complained about that? No. But there is a better spread of talent these days. And probably max one brit would have been given a wild card if you had a lot already qualified. I out more than half the field would have been bits given the aussies kiwis Swedes plus Olsen plech Autrey etc. Edited September 19, 2015 by waihekeaces1
customhouseregular
Are you absolutely sure there is a better spread of talent today?. Agreed there are more riders and more countries represented, but I would argue there were more world class riders 40-50 years ago.
phillipsr
Really cant see why people are pushing the Laguta's dont think either would add to the series. Dudek is one id like to see for no reason i like the way he rides
